The poster in her hand depicted a bulky, red-eyed monstrosity, crudely colored, and hastily tacked to one of the many tombstones that dotted the gloomy, misty area. But that description was a bit hypocritical, coming from her, so Tara kept her opinion to herself.
She sized up the entrance to Deep-Metal Mine with a raised eyebrow, taking note of the heavy gouges in the rock, and the scratches on the door. Something had certainly clawed its way inside, tearing up the ground in its wake, and now no doubt lurked in the depths of the mine. Unchallenged, it would linger there in the dark, preying on those brave enough to venture into the mines for work or curiosity.
Or it would, if she wasn’t planning to drag it back out. She placed the poster back down on the tombstone she’d found it on, and flexed her clawed fingers. A small, trap-like animatronic hopped up onto her shoulder, and snapped its teeth a few times. Tara chuckled, and gave it a gentle but fond pat with her claws.
“You babies ready for a challenge?” She asked rhetorically. “This one looks like a doozy-“ A sound caught her ear, and she stopped, half-turning her head in its direction. The Munchie on her shoulder growled, and snapped in the direction of the noise. At first, she saw nothing immediate...but then a silhouette began to shine through the mist, and Tara relaxed. She recognized those tall ears.
She didn’t know the guildmaster personally, but she recognized him.
“Staring is rude, ya know.” Tara called out to the long-eared shadow while hushing the Munchie on her shoulder. “You could at least step out and say ‘hello’.”
