Populus nigra (maybe). Fluff from the poplars. It's that time of year when everything gets covered in silky white fluff falling down from the poplars. They are called pappi. "Pappi dai pioppi" in Italian, but nobody says that. Here they call the white fluff "piumini" (little feathers). They are extremely flammable and have nothing to do with allergies, despite what everyone says. The grasses flowering in the same season as the poplars fluffing out is the cause of allergy problems. #poplars #italy #springtimeallergies #pappus #pappi (presso La Macchina Fissa) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw75PYOBakh/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1muh0ybw8jv0j
