AU where Conner is created and Lex raises him with love just so he can paint Superman as an absent father.
A moment I can't stop thinking about is when Jim finds out Ed got suspended in season 1. Like, at this point Jim is still righteous and all. But instead of wondering why Ed got suspended, he says that he doesn't want the M.E. but Ed.
Despite not knowing why he got suspended, he still trusts Ed. Like he can't see Ed getting suspended for an actual good reason.
And while that is a very small thing, it's sweet nonetheless. Like, Jim and Ed really were just a nice duo when the show let them be
I really want to go into more detail about this when I truly have the time, but while I mostly tend to talk about Byakuya, I have really never truly discussed his issues. And he does have quite some.
First off, his upbringing is just... messed up. Really messed up. He might just see it as a victory, him winning over his siblings to become heir, but it's so much worse than that.
Like, it's because of the heir competition thingy he acts the way he does in the killing game. Without even fully realizing it, he's deploying the same tactics, pushing everybody away because that was what he needed to do back then. He couldn't make any friends among his siblings because only one of them could become heir.
He doesn't even fully realize that in the killing game, there really can be more than one person left standing at the end. But when Sakura's death happens, that changes. A lot changes for him actually.
Because another issue of Byakuya's is his need for control, to know everything going on in a current situation. By knowing everything, you can't be caught off guard and in the ruthless business world, that is a must.
And once again, it's when Sakura dies he doesn't have that. He doesn't have that knowledge, that understanding of why Sakura did what she did, just as Kyoko points this out. I think this is also a part of the reason Byakuya acts the way he does towards Kyoko in Chapter 5- she was the one who called him out, exposed his weakness and he needs to get back at her.
He needs to regain control again.
There's quite honestly more I could talk about but I'll leave that for another time. Mostly because I need to organise my thoughts lol. But if you do want me to talk about something specific, my asks are always open.
And I still have this writing challenge going on too!
Watched Superman and damn do I hate Lex Luthor and boy do I want to see more of him.
And, yes, he is joining my fav characters. Love (platonically, I'm too aro to get even attracted to fictional people 💔) smart evil men.
Hiro would believe the 24K gold Labubu was real and beg Byakuya to buy it for him
I've been falling down a rabbit hole, but like... in a world where Conner and Lex sorta have contact with each other, I feel like he would be quite supportive of Conner revealing he's dating Tim.
Because Superman really only dates women. And that meand Conner isn't like Superman in that way.
Something I noticed in Superman is those threes in the beginning. Because while it might seem small, the number 3 is also important in the Aeneid, a story about the child of a god.
Now, I don't remember the exact part anymore with the threes, but it was somewhere in the beginning, and I believe it was discussing the past.
Just like with Superman. While maybe subtly, or on accident, he's being liked to a godly person.
That's a little thing I noticed hehe. Guess those 6 years of Latin were useful for something lol.
You can not convince me that Junko didn't deliberately made it so the killing game mirrored Byakuya's backstory in many ways
