🍄✨They are finally finished!✨🍄

Two Efteling playlists that let you experience the magic✨ of the park through music and storytelling. The music is sorted in park order, as if you were visiting the park yourself.

The first playlist is almost fully instrumental and is perfect for (long) study sessions and relaxing.

The second playlist contains all the same songs as the first, but with additional fairytale tellings and all none instrumental music from the park the Efteling released.

Almost all fairytales from fairytale forest are part of the playlist and it even contains tellings from other attractions and sights in the park. The playlist is perfect for casual listening and if you want to freshen up on the fairytales before visiting the park🍄.

The playlists will be updated whenever new music is released or if there are good remarks and suggestions :)

I hope you will take a listen, the playlists took a while to make 🤍🍄

Ik ben persoonlijk heel hyped voor de Prinses op de Erwt die dit jaar gaat openen in het Sprookjesbos n.a.v. het Efteling Grand Hotel.

Idk, ik ben gewoon een groot fan van sprookjes en ik vind het Sprookjesbos fantastisch mooi, dus ik ben benieuwd hoe ze deze gaan vormgeven! Wat denken jullie?

I'm Dutch and never learned about our local folklore but I'd love to know more in general. Especially since I want to write a fantasy inspired fanfiction at some point and want to fill the world with Dutch folklore inspired creatures. I can only really think of like the witte wieven sadly, got any good recommendations for creatures to research?

Well, it probably won't surprise you that the Netherlands hardly has any folklore that is just Dutch. You could say that of almost any European country, of course, but we're so small that there's bound to be overlap with all our neighbours.

Dutch stories tend to be a bit more matter-of-fact than whimsical, and we tend to be better at spooky stories than any other kind (in my experience), but if you're willing to sift through all our varied regional legends there are definitely some creatures worth exploring!

Abe van der Veen has done just that on his storytelling website, and he's made an effort to source them as well:

If you'd like a book recommendation, I'd try to get your hands on a second hand copy of Alle Sprookjes van de Lage Landen by Eelke de Jong & Hans Sleutelaar. It's not always a very smooth read, but the minimal editing they did makes it a great resource!
