Here is Sano as the spiny dogfish, with its interesting color and white spots. This small shark hunt in packs of hundreds. The spines on their dorsal fin are poisonous but it didn’t stop fisherman from turning them into fish and chips, in the past that is… #sano #mondoart #spinydogfish #shark #sharkweek #spurdog https://www.instagram.com/p/CgmKn3sPhbr/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
I saw a washed up shark on the beach the other day (it was raining so the beach was empty and I could exercise without having to worry about social distancing woo!).
I’d never seen that species before and after looking it up I found it was a ‘spurdog shark’ - a venomous shark! 8O It has two fins with spurs that can inject venom.
So of COURSE I had to draw one as a mermaid. I’m going to try to do another small local species of shark - the dog fish/cat shark next.
I’M GOING TO PUT A PIC OF THE DEAD SHARK BELOW THE CUT. So don’t look if you don’t want to see it.
No idea if it was a dumped catch or not. Its fins did look cut into as if to remove the spurs. I’d be angry if it was. Dog fish (cat sharks) are often caught as bait then dumped on the beach too. :/
And yes there were people fishing during lock down. Because ’exercise’ means sports. And fishing is a sport! 8D
