Despite her protests her dad still left to attend to some “errands”. He was a workaholic, and still recovering from severe injuries or not, he wasn’t going to laze around home. She didn’t approve, but she knew she’d have done the same had she been in his shoes, and so she took that opportunity to prepare a hearty meal for him when he returned.

But it wasn’t even half an hour later that she heard the front gate of their house opening. Surprised, she peeked out of the window, at the same time as she heard her dad loudly calling for her. “Oh dear God…” She set the knife in her hand down on the counter and quickly washed her hands before dashing out the door.

“Who is this? What happened to him?!” Her dad was limping, struggling in balancing his weight on the crutch he was forced to use as he recovered, and in keeping the weight of an unconscious young man from toppling them both to the ground. 

Sera carefully adjusted the weight of the stranger onto her, and off her father. “I got him dad, let him go. Sheesh, your stitches will rupture!” But he was a man of action, (just like her), and he still somewhat helped in the transportation of the stranger who was bloodied, aside from knocked-out.

“So you still bring strangers home, huh?” Sera said after some time, all while sanitizing a gash by the boy’s lips.

“The best of men are–” He was interrupted by Sera who finished the sentence; “those who live in the service of others. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten.” She spent a whole decade outside of Korea, but the values instilled in her by him as a child were forever engraved.

Her father anxiously checked the time, and realized he would be very late if he did not take off at once, and so he got up once more. “Keep me updated.” He demanded.

“You too. Call me every hour or I will call you!”

“I thought I was the parent here…”

“You are!”

They both exchanged a glance and chuckled, then he left, closing the front door behind him.

Sera attended to the cuts on the unknown guest’s knuckles when she felt him awakening finally. “Hello.” She greeted him with a soft smile.

Moving Forward.

She wasn’t sure if acting like nothing happened would actually make it so it really was as if nothing happened, but she did it anyway. Blocking was the only thing that could possibly prevent her from another breakdown, and she needed so desperately to stay as collected as possible; to prove that she was still an asset to the team, and not an expendable liability. And somehow, sitting behind her desk, tapping obsessively at the keys of her keyboard, she was finally calm, serene; she was in her element, and she was back to being mozart rather than the impaired, handicapped, scaredy-cat she was not so long ago.

But then she heard her name, recognizing the addresser as none other than Lancelot. She owed him a thank you, in fact, she might have even owed him her life for saving her during the masquerade, for snapping her out of the trance she had fallen into that would have undoubtedly cost her gravely. She couldn’t remember if she had thanked him during the 2 weeks prior to her sudden falling out of action, but she had a feeling he wasn’t there to ask for gratitude.

Anxiety bubbled in her chest as she hesitantly responded, “yes?” She could swear she could predict what was coming next; the reprimands she was so dreadful of. (Of course, she had no idea Jonghyun explained her situation at HQ, hence their tolerance.)

Hoseok didn’t have to wonder how he had ended up in this situation. If he did, however, the man before him would have answered the question without him asking. 

“Where’s my money, jackass?” the guy all but yelled and Hoseok flinched, a smile widening his face on reflex. The smile seemed to do more good than bad and before he knew it Hoseok was grabbed by the collar and trying not to breathe in garlic breath. Usually he was pretty good at talking himself out of situations like this. Of course usually he was too good to end up in situations like this. He had a feeling he wouldn’t get out of this so easily. 

“Money?” Hoseok asked, doing his best to act innocent, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He wondered how he’d found out. It must have been Sebin. He’d told her not to get cheeky after the first time. 

“Don’t try to screw with me,” he growled, shaking him, “You and that whore fucked me over.” 

“Woah, I think there was a misunderstanding here,” Hoseok tried to argue, “I don’t have your money. I didn’t even know she was taken ‘till you walked in on us.” Before he even finished the sentence he realized the guy wasn’t buying it. he resigned himself to the fact that he was going to get the shit beat out of him. He closed his eyes and braced for the impact.

It all started so suddenly, she almost didn’t comprehend what sparked the chaos, took her a few moments to grasp that a bullet had just grazed her skin and penetrated the man next to her.

She was busy checking her phone, ensuring that all the bugs she littered the venue with were transmitting the way they should to the control room, and looked up just in time to see the blood spluttering out of the host’s mouth. She got up, just as everyone did, panic washing over her features, heart racing with fear, adrenaline rushing through her veins. How could this happen? They had eyes and ears everywhere. How could they not see it coming?

She wanted to scream, but no sound would come out. Instead, she froze in her spot, for only a moment, but in these settings, a moment of irresponsiveness could be the fatal mistake. A blow to her chest as someone pushed her out of the way, and she stumbled in her heels, hitting her head against the marble wall and dropping to the ground. The room spun around, but she was very well still conscious. She felt a heavy weight suddenly dropping on her, and warm liquid seeping onto her skin.

She opened her eyes, the blurriness fading away, and she hoped it didn’t the moment her eyes caught sight of the bloody head on her chest, and she could swear these pieces were the man’s blown out brain. She couldn’t scream, but she started to cry, moving in sudden sharp reflexes to push the body off of her.

She was shaking, tripped as she attempted to stand up once more. Was this it? Were they all going to die? Were all the friends she’d come to adore in this place going to take their last breath too? She looked up, and there was a rifle pointed at her. And as cliché as it sounds, her life played before her eyes, from the good times of her childhood, to her father’s arrest, to her attempted suicide, to being accepted in CalTech, to the nightmare playing again, to having a sweet relationship, to it going wrong, to that incident at the Incheon airport, to late night chats with Blake and their screaming in an HQ hallway, to balcony chats and barging in on Jonghyun, to painting her nails with Mina, to teasing Jaebum about ghosts...

This had to be it, right?

you can definitely still continue your threads! as long as you got the four posts before the deadline, then you may collect the points for it. if not, then you can no longer collect them once the date has passed. however, whether or not you complete the four posts for your points, you may still continue your threads if you choose to, for as long as it takes until the thread ends. hopefully this clears up any confusion you might have!

The Night Has Just Begun || Suho & Hyukjae

Hyukjae’s habit of being everywhere a little too early only made him even more anxious than usual; a new assignment after spending two years sitting on his behind and tending to the wounds of others hadn’t particularly made him soft, but there was still a knot in his throat that he couldn’t swallow. Checking his watch for what felt like the tenth time, he still had no clue who his partner was. Chances are they were someone he never worked with before, and it was an even bigger chance that he or she felt as if they had all the answers.

It was annoying already, to say the least. Shouldn’t they have met up earlier to discuss their plan for this whole night? With a silver mask covering his face, he scanned the area for anyone who might have fit the partner’s description, only to check his watch--yet again--and sigh. The night’s  air was cold, people were already making their way inside, and he was stuck looking as if he was stood up by his date. He had half a mind to go in, but he knew to stay put until it was time for the other person to show up. “As long as they’re not some fresh-faced kid,” He mumbled to himself, foot tapping the hard ground lightly. “Just know what the hell you’re doing and don’t fuck up…”

he’s not deaf, he’s heard the whispers whether by accident or pretend judgement. it still stings that there are people who doubt his ability. now more so that he’s a knight.

the promotion hadn’t been easy. yes, he’d made mistakes but the thrived, he’d made it through all the obstacles and he along with yixing were the only ones to succeed. 

he knew that he was a capable man but to have people constantly talking about his disabilities hurt and frustrated him. what more was he to do??

his fist made a somewhat satisfying sound against the punching bag. ​his knuckles were already bloody even though he’d taken the time to wrap them up.

he’s so wrapped up in himself that doesn’t realize the presence by him.
