Digging through Jaaide's tag for screenies to put on that raffle post brought me face to face with the fallout of her screwing up the dialogue choice in Onslaught. :)))
Imagine the person you love more than life itself saying this to you when you alredy wanna curl up and die from guilt. :) No wonder it leads to their first and only Big Fight. :))
Touch prompts: giving them a piggy-back ride
Have some SPY NERDS for Theron Thursday! :D
---
It was a testament to how tired Jaaide was that she didn’t notice the hole in time to avoid it. Normally she would have been paying better attention. Normally she would have caught herself. But as it stood, she was already in motion to step where there wasn’t ground by the time the absence registered. Too late to check herself or redirect her stride or anything other than step--heavily--in the hole. It was deep enough to send her pitching sideways with a yelp.
“Jaaide-!” Theron’s fingers brushed her sleeve, just a hair too slow to avert disaster.
She hit the ground hard, her shoulder and her pride both stinging when she regained her feet. “I’m alright,” she said reflexively, even as her ankle twinged hard at standing.
“You sure?” Theron asked, brow furrowing as he looked her over, picked dead grass out of her hair.
“Only thing bruised was my dignity.” She brushed dirt off, smoothed her hair, and resumed course--
Only to almost eat dirt again as her ankle nearly buckled at the weight.
Types of Kisses Prompt 3 for Jaaide and Theron
3. A breathy demand: “Kiss me” - and what the other person does to respond. (Set a day or so after Damage Control)
For once it was just them.
No Lana, no Alliance business, even no med-techs fussing about. That was the biggest miracle of the three, and had taken a combination of Jaaide pulling rank, reminding the doctor she had stellar medical training, and promising she was more than capable of making Theron stay in bed where he belonged.
(Apparently his walk to find her had been either unsanctioned or ill-advised and he’d done it anyway. Because of course he had.)
“More than capable, huh?” Theron had snarked, sitting on their bed, tension in his posture that spoke of still being mildly uncertain he belonged there even as he leaned back against the pillows.
“More than,” she repeated, smirking, as she curled up with her head on his shoulder and one arm loosely draped over his stomach.
“Oh, that’s not fair,” he’d muttered in protest, but hadn’t made any move to dislodge her, and they’d been sitting like that ever since.
Sacred romantic moment prompt: “ you're pretty amazing. you know that, right? “
This turned out to intersect perfectly with a hand holding prompt I've been wanting to fill with the Spy Nerds, so bonus! :D Set post-NC, somewhere between my Damage Control and Sappy as Hell fics.
25. standing in front of each other, holding both their hands [Jaaide/Theron]
-----
“You’re pretty amazing, you know that, right?”
Jaaide bit back a smile. Theron had been quiet the whole time she was patching him up; equal parts grinding his teeth against the pain and just watching her. “And you are currently swimming in painkillers,” she retorted with a gentle poke at his shoulder.
“Doesn’t make me wrong,” Theron insisted, rubbing the edge of the bacta patch on his forearm.
“Just loopy,” she said lightly, returning the unneeded supplies to her medkit. The banter was good, it kept her from dwelling in how close things had come to going very wrong at the end. The sizzle of a blaster bolt, his yelp of pain, what felt like an eternity as she dealt with the remaining enemies. That too-familiar, too-close dread. She cleared her throat to shoo the memory away. “I think you’d know by now how much they can affect your judgment.”
Theron gave her a look. “Jaaide.” He slid off the counter that had served as stand-in medical table with only a faint wince at supporting weight on the injured arm and stood facing her to take her hands in his. ”Take a compliment, will you, sweetheart?”
here we go @haledamage, like I said; a lot wanted to chip in 😂
24. In their own words, how would your character describe what their lover is like?
Vesper already waxed a little eloquent about Kurt on the other questions, so I’ll let her momentum start this off. “Kurt is home. He’s solid and steady as a mountain, strong in more ways than one, loyal... I know I can always count on him to have my back and I’m ready to do the same for him, without hesitation. I admire so much that he’s remained kind(even if he’d claim otherwise, he is one of the kindest people I know) when his life hasn’t been. He’s badass and gruff and doesn’t hesitate in dealing with threats, but when he cares for people he cares so much. He’s strength and gentleness twined together and I don’t know what I would do without him.” (there’s a long list of reasons she wants to marry him, damn what her uncle might say. She will throw down for her man)
♬ OC’s reaction to having to be on Hoth or Ilum.
Initial impulsive was to use Bry, but I've already done her bitching about how cold it is on Ilum, so we'll go with the Spy Nerds instead.
----
She couldn't feel her fingers.
Jaaide shivered and worked her hands, unsure if the lack of feeling was due to cold or the double layered cold-weather gear meant to protect from it.
"You alright?" Theron asked, lowering his macrobinoculars to shoot her a concerned look.
"Just forgot how cold it is here," Jaaide said. She tugged at the hood of her coat, even though she knew it couldn't go any further forward. "And how bright."
"You're telling me," he snorted, securing the macrobinoculars to his belt. "We're lucky it's still a little cloudy from that storm last night or we wouldn't be able to see worth a damn."
She nodded, just as the wind kicked up and had her huddling against him. "I don't like the cold," she muttered.
"Does anyone?" Theron deadpanned, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"If so, I wish they'd have volunteered to handle this instead," Jaaide said with a sigh.
He laughed, breath clouding the air. "Tell me about it." He tugged her closer when she shivered again. "The only good thing about being cold is the warming up after."
She giggled as she reluctantly stepped away from the warmth he offered. "Aside from the fact this... individual requested to meet me, specifically, and you refused to let me come alone, so it couldn't have been anyone else." She surveyed the stark white landscape, dotted with pirate outposts or jutting cliffs of ice.
For a moment, the wind almost had a voice. "Let's take out some insurance. Keyword...."
Jaaide shuddered and her shoulders hunched as she shoved away the memory.
Theron arched a brow at her. "Sure you're alright?"
She nodded. "I'm fine." It was true, the warmth of his arms sliding loosely around her shoulders again more than made up for the flashback. "I just have some... unpleasant memories here."
"Again, it's Hoth, doesn't everyone?" he asked glibly, but she caught the concern that flickered in his eyes.
Jaaide reached up to squeeze his hand resting against her shoulder. It's the past. I'm fine. "Come on, let's get this over with so we can get to the fun part of being cold."
"I like the way you think," Theron laughed, and left his arm around her shoulders as they started down the hill.
[SWtOR Prompts]
Kiss prompts, #50. In Secret kiss
She heard him coming behind her well before arms settled around her shoulders, pulling her back into his chest, and a soft kiss pressed against her hair. “Honey, I’m home.”
Jaaide giggled at the joking tone and raised one hand to rest against his arms. “You’re lucky I knew that was you, or approaching unannounced behind a former Intelligence operative might not have ended well for you.”
Theron snorted as he rested his chin atop her head. “You mean you haven’t learned to curb instincts years in the cultivating?” he deadpanned. “I’m shocked. Shocked.”
