Fishing for Spy Tech Ideas
Hey all, I’ve been working on a secret agent/spy story for a while now and I could use some gadget and tech ideas. I have some tech ideas, but I’d love more ideas/features for them.
Here’s some of the stuff I’ve come up with so far:
High Tech Watches (Like Smartwatches!)
They still do normal Smartwatch things, like let you answer texts, handle phone calls, email, etc. But also has secret agent type features.
Built in tracers/trackers for agents who are calling for Back-up or for containment/medical teams (or if something goes wrong on a mission.)
Watches can also connect to trackers placed by agents. (probably not used as often, since they’d have to keep staring at their wrist.)
Maybe they could have Tranq darts hidden in them. (A good self defense thing that would be easy to hide by making really small while still being effective.)
Senior agents would probably have remote-callers for vehicles registered to them in the agency. (Like a remote starter, but more!)
Tech’ed up Sunglasses (Or regular glasses, if the agent wore them)
Probably have settings for Infrared and night-vision. (So they can see/track targets in the dark.)
Maybe a yellow lens/night driver version for agents who use/carry those
Lenses could double as info-screens (maybe even for the watches! That could work well with the trackers.)
Arms of glasses could have a listening device feature. (The ends could be removable, and act as the mics, with the arms letting the agents listen in.)
Glasses could also have hidden cameras in them (like the Snapchat sunglasses)
Phone Upgrades (Or just new "Company” phones)
Has programs to automatically encrypt the data on the phone. Also to keep it from being hacked/listened in on.
Connects to the watch/glasses to keep the information consistent between them all.
It might have something for defense built in (like a taser maybe?)
Phones could have a special GPS that could work (pretty much) anywhere. Not only to keep agents from getting lost, but also to let them keep contact with the agency.
Spy Cars (Fancy Ones, obviously)
Has all the fancy stuff found in expensive/fancy cars irl (digital screens, back-up cameras, Bluetooth connections, etc.) but added to all the cars.
Car chase stuff like Caltrops and Tire spikes. (Those are the only things I can think of rn)
Hidden things in the cars like back-up gadgets, emergency supplies, medical kits, (weapons) etc.
Some cars are multi-terrain; some are amphibious, some can fly, some can off-road despite being city cars, etc.
Some agents have outfitted personal cars in addition to (or instead of) “company” cars that they use.
Briefcases; the agency probably has them, but agents rarely use them. (As people don’t tend to carry briefcases anymore. Unless it’s for very important business.)
Most cases are armored and strong enough to handle most stuff thrown at them. Even bullets from point blank range. (Until you get to high caliber rounds. then they’re not as effective. Also, not very helpful with bombs.)
Cases have things like hidden computers and labs in them. (Not as good as the main Agency labs, but good on the go.)
May have hidden tools/weapons as well.
Voice Changers (more for espionage specific agents, but sometimes other agents will have things)
They’re made to sound natural, so that their use is well hidden. Also made to be very subtle. (things worn around the mouth/throat so that the person can have a different voice while speaking in-person)
Can also connect to devices like phones, cameras, and computers.
These are some of the best ideas that I have so far, all inspired by classic secret agent gear that I’ve seen in multiple movies/shows (with some stuff inspired by a Detective anime I’ve been watching) but that’s also where I’m coming up short.
If anyone has suggestions for more tech/tech features I could use, please tell me! I just want some more cool tech ideas for what I’m working on!
