Nilotika Cultural Ensemble - Ghetto People

GHETTO PEOPLE is the second single from the forthcoming African Roots Reggae album: NYABINGI RESURRECTION The video of GHETTO PEOPLE was shot on the streets of Kampala and features a killer performance from Hip Hop artist Spyda MC. Switchstance Recordings (DE) and East African Records (Uganda) have worked with Nilotika Cultural Ensemble to record - for the first time ever - an African Nyabingi drumming session in the birthplace of the Nyabingi movement. The session was captured over two weeks at East African Records' studio, using local instruments and the full ensemble of around 15 people, including friends and family. The results are extraordinary, combining ancient rhythms, new technology, chanting, drumming, rapping and virtuoso instrumentalists.
