If anybody guessed “Starfrost” of @askstarfrost on the set of sketches I posted earlier, ya hit it on the head! Perfectly outfitted for the Ice Caverns, comes a fluffy reindeer antlered gal with a gentle sound of sleigh bells.

My pal Jannike has been having a real rough time of things IRL right now, so I did up her bby Starfrost as a Spyroverse derg. She had also gotten Reignited for Christmas and has been playing. We were talking about derg!Starfrost before things took a downturn, so what better time than now?

Bat-dragon boy is happy with his little batty friends. My whole goal was to push the bat features of his design: The leaf-shaped nose, the ears, the wings and wing membrane, his toe-claws. Dragon!Chiro makes for a fun dragon design~ x3 

He probably makes a habit of spending a lot of time upside down around stalactites big enough to handle his weight as a grown dragon. Claws dug into the rock, tail wrapped around the formation, just chilling with his tiny furry flying friends.  “Alright look I know bats and insects are natural enemies but you leave my little buddies alone and I’ll leave your little buddy alone, okay?”

Despite the fact I lack the Reignited Trilogy still yet, I’m seeing too many people do their Spyroverse dragons and I want to, too! ;w; 

So this is me exploring what Spyroverse Dragon!Zen might look like!  Got that long soba-noodle body; gotta have that flow if one’s deal is aquascaping! She has chin barbels, yes. And orbs of contained water about her, including the one between her antlers. 

I hope to have a better readout on Derg!Zen when I get more of a final concept, but for now, this what I got!

So uhh I may have an intense itch, if my third Spyroverse dragon design is any indication. >w>

My werebat boy Alvaro “Chiro” Morales this time. xD He’s a very batty derg, not much of a fighter by Peace Keeper standards, but he’s got a thing for trying to protect smaller things. xD His face when he heard that Ice Cavern’s bats were frequent targets of small dragons with their dragonfly buddies was priceless, though. He may or may not have tried to smuggle a bunch of the critters out of that particular realm. Chiro’s shapes are a lot of rhombuses (rhombi?). I dunno why that particular shape, but it is. Kinda like a kite. I was more focused on his face, trying to get that batty look to him, since I knew exactly how I wanted to do his overall form. x3

Some Spyroverse AU thoughts, mostly concerning what dragon homeworld my primary OCs would come from:

I've already established both Kat and Chiro as Peacekeepers. But what about the rest of my crew? Welllll~

Aureline is most likely a Magic Crafter with some major alchemy/apothecary vibe going on. Nerdy goggles and everything.

Selina, I've gotten a little torn between another Peacekeeper, or a Beast Maker. I'm leaning towards the latter if only because of the camouflage-hunter potential in her design. Like croc, boa, maybe kaprosuchus influence.

Salizar is... Difficult. I don't want to default to another Peacekeeper, but I can't really decide what else he could be. Lol And he doesn't really fit for Artisan, initially? His entire thing is bookkeeping and charting and statistics, paired with some inclination to sailing. I dunno.

Rori is a Dream Weaver; I didn't even have to think about this one, it was just instinctively there lol. "Expect the unexpected, and prepare for what is not there" is her entire shtick. xD

And now Dragon!Katarina~

Normally I have Kat wielding a saber or rapier, but a regular longsword just worked out this time. lol She has a lot less scale detail than does Dragon!Zen, thus only the accessorized pic. I am a little bummed that a minor detail in her horns isn’t super visible. xD

I imagine Dragon!Kat sticks around Ice Caverns in the Peace Keepers homeworld. Cold doesn’t bother her; either her inner flame is super hot, or she’s one of those Ice Breath discipline dragons. Either way, that’s where she would be found. Would also find it on the incredulous side that a little purple pipsqueak had to liberate the Dragon Realms on multiple occasions. Like “What in blazes are the rest of you overgrown lizards doing being useless like that?” xD

Relax, Kat. It’s a universe from a kids’ game. lol (Also, I realized that I have a major inconsistency throughout art of Kat with a sword. She’s technically right-handed; she trained to be ambi.)

A little more concept exploration, this time with none other than Katarina as my design fodder. xD Going a good bit more Western in her design, given her Germanic roots and all. 

A lot less fiddling around than on Zen’s, now that I’ve shaken the bipedal dragon rust off my hands. That and she gave me information a little more readily/I knew more how she’d fit into the Spyroverse, design-wise. Definitely went Peace Keeper over all the others. xD I always lean towards designing her looking more masculine. I think, anyway. xD I think I succeed? Leastways I try to do it on purpose.

EDIT: Added an alternate pose sketch that parts of it I like, most of it I don’t, but throwing it up here anyway because even if I don’t like it on the whole it’s still a part of the concept. xD
