I do actually have a question, though if you don’t want to answer that is perfectly understandable. So why is Dain’s dad so focused on killing Violet? I mean the man tried to kill her before she even bonded and had any clue that the Venin were real. Will we ever find out why this man has such a hard-on for her? Is it because of her father or her mother? Revenge or is there someone else pulling the strings? Oh man I can’t wait to find out!!

hahaha that is the question indeed! Violet herself theorizes on this when thinking about the idea of balance and she knows it could only be a few things:

Violet revealed her hand somewhere along the way and made Aetos suspicious enough to want her gone

Aetos is not working alone 2a. and one of the higher-ups at Basgiath is the one gunning for her (this could be a number of people considering everyone Violet has spied on) 2b. and somehow the venin wanted to take her off the board before she manifested (she thinks about the storm on conscription day and the possibility of precognition here -- venin having signets and the ideas of balance are at the core of this theory)

He's just that much of a dick!

The question of why he's out to get her is an important one! Violet doesn't really know, but she definitely has her ideas. There are a few details about the whole thing that she hasn't managed to settle, like why did the orders to kill her change after she manifested her signet? She has some follow-up questions!
