Model by @ollydayz - 🍡Olly is swapping yesterday’s busy European life for some tranquil Asian relaxation with today’s #RiceCakeDay. Depending on which country you’re celebrating in, rice cakes come in all different forms. The rice cakes us Westerners know, the crispy dieting type, are quite different to those found in Asian countries, different as they have one thing we don’t have - taste! Olly’s traditional rice cake of choice is the beloved mochi from Japan. Mochi is made from pounded rice, and has been in production pretty much since the birth of rice cultivation. But enough about that - just get them in our tummies now! 💃Olly is always ready for a “dozey” during the day, but today he’s trading that in for a “dosey do” as he celebrates #SquareDancingDay. We most commonly see square dancing as part of American culture, but its roots are in English, Irish and Scottish folk dancing, brought over to Northern America by European settlers in the 18th century, and modified to the form we know today. Square Dancing is the National Dance of 22 US states, which is quite an achievement when you think it has had to endure the Chicken Dance, the Macarena, and Gangnam Style! 🤦‍♂️In retail, we’ve always lived by the law that the customer is always right, right? It may be the law, but everyone knows that it is not always the case. Today is #CustomerIsWrongDay, a day not so much to call out the times a customer is wrong, but to feel good about when they are wrong, instead of letting it anger us.
