Gotta agree with you on Bolin taking Beifong as his last name - I don't see him doing it, just I don't see Korra ever taking Asami's last name if they marry.

I deffo can’t see Korra taking Asami’s last name at all. Korra is Avatar Korra, not a Sato.

Bolin I could see taking the Beifong name, but it doesn’t have a good ring to it and perhaps Bolin is just happy with hiimself. Their children would take the Beifong name, most likely though.

Hey! Forgive me if you've been asked this before, but if you were to write LoK characters, who would be your first choice? And Gladiator? Fucking MASTERPIECE!!!

I haven’t been asked, I think? O_o if I have I guess I forgot x’D

Truth is I have a complicated relationship with LOK, which is why I never wrote anything for it. I’ve written a few stories about ATLA characters pre-LOK, but I never focused on LOK or its cast, if anything the only ones from LOK to show up were the Gaang’s children once in a while.

But… what most people don’t know, is that I actually did consider writing an LOK story back when only Book 1 had aired, and I was innocent and blissfully happy without my awareness xD

The fic was actually supposed to be about Pema, strange as it may be. A crazy story, probably a little too farfetched, where she discovered at a young age that she was an airbender, kind of a spontaneous one. The story was meant to develop her relationship with Tenzin in a way to… explain, as harmlessly as possible, how Tenzin ended things with Lin and how he ended up falling for Pema. In short, an attempt to make it a little less dramatic and homewrecking than it sounded in canon, but tbh with how LOK dealt with romance, I realize that was very wishful on my part and it probably was exactly as Pema said it was.

As I said, I was innocent and naïve. Tbh I didn’t have the drive or emotional investment required for it, but it wouldn’t have been such a bad story, I think. I planned on having young Pema coming across a Noatak who had barely just developed his bending-stealing powers, and he blocks her airbending which is why she can’t bend by the time the show begins. Crazy stuff, huh? But I liked the idea at the time. I was going to have her being very close with Aang too, he would have been her master, so she would have been heartbroken by his death. I barely ever spare any thoughts for that crazy idea of mine, gotta say… 

So by now, with the full show having aired already, I guess my better choice for an LOK project would be Kuvira. Possibly post-finale, maybe Baavira dealing with their problems and getting back on track. Maybe. Another possibility would be Naga getting justice, as in, being petted all day and night and treated like the beautiful polar bear-dog queen she is (?) I’m sorry, I’m still salty that Lin tore up her ball and that Korra gave her no treats, like, just, NO. #JusticeForNaga2K17

Lin as well isn’t a bad option for a writing subject. How would I use her? I dunno, but she’s not bad. Would be great to give her a storyline that isn’t about her deposing deserved grudges against people who have wronged her… Another possibility, maybe a sibling fic about Eska and Desna. Those two had potential and could have been used in many ways, really. It’s too bad they were mostly comic relief. So I could go for them, too.

Anyways, I really can’t say I’d write a lot for LOK because as I said, I need further emotional investment ^^U But yep, I guess those are my choices :) sorry I took forever answering this ask, and thanks again for the sweet comment on Gladiator!

Hey Blitz! If you're still taking She Ra asks, who do Glimmer & Adora ask for relationship advice? Also, how do they feel about formal gatherings that aren't Princess Prom? Do they dread them, or do they enjoy tarting up for the occasion?

I think it would be funny if Glimmer asked Casta for relationship advice. I imagine she’s actually good at spouting out good relationship tidbits and I loved how she played wingwoman (sort of) in @athetos post s5 glimmadora fic! Amazing and so funny. I think Glimmer might also ask Micah .. ;;--;;; She’d probably get to know him better as time passed and end up trusting his advice implicitly.

As for Adora---I imagine before Angella sacrificed herself, Adora went to her for advice often. Probably awkwardly and quietly... She asked things about how to interact with Glimmer. And Angella outwardly was like “>:/” but inwardly “:------)”

After Angella, Adora probably goes to Bow most often for advice. I think they have a solid and supportive relationship and Bow would be patient with the basic relationship questions that Adora never learned ;;--;;;

Formal gatherings! I think they actually both enjoy them a lot. Glimmer might complain a bit about ‘obligations’ as Queen, but really, she enjoys getting dressed up for Adora and vice versa. I think they’d enjoy the *flair* and *romance* of formal gatherings. Fancy dances, dinners, quiet moments just to BE together even among a crowd. So yeah, I think they really enjoy them. I also particularly headcanon that Adora really loves to be the gentlewoman :---)

Dressing up and treating Glimmer like a Queen is probably a favorite hobby.

Glimista in NSA is my favorite thing because I didn’t even think about the kind of dynamic they would have in detail, I just knew it would probably end in disaster based on their personalities...

Ummmm.... Hmmm, okay this is a good question. Um... I’m actually really okay with Glitra. It has rights in a lot of AU’s and I think canon should have done way more with them, but didn’t. And that’s a huge bummer because they’re narrative foils and two sides of the same coin and light side/dark side and all that jazz. And that’s super compelling and interesting. But I also think they have a cool way of complimenting one another. They both have like... the same attitude but deliver it differently and... Anyway, yeah. If I had to pick someone else for Glimmer--genuinely--it would be a redeemed Catra.

As for Adora... That’s a really tough question ughghgughkjhk... Um.... I think that she would be cute with Lonnie? To be honest? Tough, no nonsense badass leaders? But also sweet and protective of their team mates. Idk... Lonnie doesn’t ever get a lot of screen time so we don’t know too much about their relationship? But she did call Adora their friend and we all know what that means in this show.

And Adora did desperately try to save her from the portal as the Fright Zone was collapsing and then frustratedly banged on the door when she disappeared anyway so...They at least definitely made out in a closet a few times.

...Okay I’m thinking about it and Adoramista has rights too... Sunshine one with the Grumpy one? Hello?? Inject that trope straight into me.
