Major Canon Divergence:
This fic doesn’t take place in the canon universe.
You could think of this like me taking advantage of the multiverse theory and parking my car in it.
Some things to take note of are:
This universe(the one the fic takes place in) is damaged, there will be references to “The Rift” throughout the fic, which is a large, red, globe-like tear in between two universes who have no contact with each other aside from Hawkmoth.
In our universe(as it takes place in the fic): the miraculous have been given out to heroes and are currently in alignment with what you call “good guys”.
The villains we see in the fic are desperate attempts by Hawkmoth, of the other universe, to get his hands on the Ladybug and Cat miraculous (huh, that seems familiar).
Our heroes don’t understand that, they really only understand that there’s a bad guy, and they need to protect Paris.
Which leads into another set of rules that is hugeeeeely cannon divergent:
I’ve made all of the miraculous into pairs, like how the cat and ladybug are in canon.

The only Miraculous that is not in a pairing is the Bunny, and the Bunny is the team leader in this world.

A/B/O Dynamics
In this universe, we have Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. There are no other special designations!
Alphas:
-scent glands on the neck, crotch, and underarms
-have extendable canines (larger than an omega)
-natural ruts that last on average 3-5 days
-bad reputations
-has knot
-Alpha’s have an ability to subjugate denominations that fall below them in the hierarchy. This is in the form of verbal subjugation that is usually unintentional due to it being considered a taboo by most to do it.
-it is very difficult for an Alpha to force another Alpha into verbal subjugation.
-rut will make an Alpha lose a lot of coherency, where their main goal is to breed the nearest nice smelling thing they can find. Fever and general violence are side effects.
-Common slurs for Alphas are: Knot Head & Rut Chaser
Betas:
-scent glands on the neck
-relatively peaceful, this type is closest to irl humans
-considered to be better than Omegas/Alphas due to their ability to control urges
-does not have a heat/rut cycle, female Betas do have a period
Omegas:
-scent glances on the neck, lower stomach, thighs, wrists, and crotch
-have extendable canines (smaller than an Alpha)
-natural heats last on average 5-10 days
-people underestimate them due to usually timid nature
-produces slick
-makes a nest made of whatever things the Omega finds comforting. Most of the time this includes soft things & articles of clothing the Omega considers scent compatible with their pack.
-a heat consists of a preheat duration that gives warning to the actual heat. This usually lasts 24-48 hours before the Omega begins having a terrible fever-like hunger for sex. Most Omegas will take a partner for their heats, some do not. Knotting toys and other means on sating themselves are possible, but an Omega in heat will find it very difficult to be satisfied without taking a proper knot.
-common slurs for Omegas are: Knot Slut, Knot Whore, & Career Breeder.
Additional Info:
-there are heat/rut aide medications
-there are scent patches to help dampen scent
-can get pregnant: Female Omega, Female Beta, Female Alpha, Male Omega
-cannot get pregnant: Male Beta, Male Alpha
(Note: Female Alpha’s are very very hard to fertilize but in rare cases we see in some Alpha/Alpha pairings, it is possible)
(Secondary note, because someone will ask: Female Alpha & Male Omega have very similar biology in this universe. Both have anatomy reminiscent of hermaphroditic individuals. Female Alpha’s have larger cocks, while Male Omega’s have smaller cocks).

-scent is a huge thing! Everyone has their own scent profiles and no one has the same as someone else exactly. Scent profiles developed overtime as a reflection of the individual and mature fully once the character has finished puberty.
-mood affects scent! You will probably notice if a character is sad/upset, the other character will comment on scent change and this is why!
-Mating Bites!!! Mating bites can be shared by ANY denomination regardless of their born-sex. (Yes!! This includes Betas!!)
A half bond: One partner bites the other. ( A bite will bind the BITTEN person to the biter, but not the other way around)
A full bond: both parties bite each other. (Both parties are bitten, and therefor bonded)
-once bonded, the body will accept the biter as their mate, and naturally over time you will not be affected by the scent of others. Although, the scent of the person you are bonded to will affect you tenfold.
