Im going to make the little squid key chains tutorial undercut, but i made one. This is very much a "to your own preference" thing, very easy to customize, and, infact, encouraged. It's also gonna be a terrible tutorial because im bad at explaining thing. Lots of pictures. I use felt, so it will likely react differently than other fabric. Also, if you make one, either reblog this with yours, or tag (@squid--inc ) in your creating it, cause i wanna see!

If you want to be tagged, untagged, or tagged in specific content, let me know. Reblogs help other people see my shit, and that is greatly appreciated.
Step one, cut out the base of it; head and sheet for tentacles (the reason the tentacle sheet is so large is that it gets braided, which makes it shrink)
The head and tentacles can be done in various orders, the tentacles i do are a basic 3 strand braid, this one has long thin ones, altho previous ones ive done have thick braids:
I used red lines as guides, where to sew the head, you will turn it inside out after
For eyes, i use those little glass pellets you get to decorate vases and shit, then paint the back with acrylic. (Let it dry completely, i use fabric glue to get them to stay properly, pressing down for 10-20 seconds, and leaving to completely dry. Shake test it)
Place the eyes where you plan on putting them, and trace a line around them, it's not necessary, but helps keep track of placement. You will want to keep them in place while sewing to keep the shape of the eyelids right. I can clarify if anyone asks, and you can't figure out how from pictures.
Once sewn on, cut off excess, unless you want to turn it into a detail
Take the tentacle piece (i used a different wip as an example because I'm tired and attach it to the inside of the squid ( hand sewing it works well)
Once those are attached, you can either leave the underside like that, or fill it with what you like, and attach an underpiece to it (i use scraps from the work itself, you can use anything, including scented stuff)
Attaching the key chain part, i took the end of the chain and folded fabric around it, and sew it in place. Then adding the attachment piece is up to you. I also use fabric markers to put patterns on them.
If you want to add a zipper, this can easily become a coin purse, you can make them larger, and use nicer stuffing for a stuffed animal to cuddle, there is all sorts of stuff you can do with it. :-)
