hello friend!!! this is a very nice ask. on one hand, im very sorry you had to experience homestuck in any way because homestuck is VASTLY UNFORTUNATE, on the other hand, i’m glad that i could provide you a Vicarious Homestuck Experience, as all my homestuck opinions are cool and great.
homestuck is … not something i can??? RECCOMEND ??? TO ANYONE??? because. it feels cruel to. i have had some unfortunate things happen to me because i read this hellcomic. but i have also had some really great things happen to me, and have met a lot of very cool people, and written more and more confidently than i have in a very long time, and participated in making art with other people, and received art in return, and in general its a very fun thing, if you know the right people, to be part of a community where even the most oddball off the wall suggestions are like “yeah okay… sure why not….” case in point, delivered unto us by my good cool palfriend squidilydink,

(re: “they’re made out of meat” — i think its a Neat Idea in that i like it when stories explore an underlying assumption we have about what other life would be like, like why do we assume that aliens would be like, bio-organic or whatever like we are? what if WE’RE the weird ones? there’s a post going around like that, about how “ok so aliens sometimes are shown as having No Gender which is cool but what if they had some other like categorization really standard/fundamental in their society that we didnt and they were flummoxed by our inability to grok it?” but i dont like “they’re made out of meat” that much because its sort of squicky for me in a I Find This Human Form Repulsive Sometimes way.)
