Does personality count for anything these days?
My friend put up a video today, saying it was going to be the last SMITE video (at least in a while) as he has now run out of recordings. Anyone who's seen him stream SMITE recently knows he just isn't having any fun with it. He was only playing it because he felt he had to, which is never going to work out well.
I made the mistake of looking at the comments section... I just cannot believe how many people are unsubscribing because he isn't playing that one game right now. Sure, he did a lot of SMITE videos, but he's always had a vareity of games on his channel. The comments just baffle me:
"I don't care for the other games, unsubscribed"
"I only wanted to see him play SMITE, nothing else"
...Wut? o.O Why would anyone be this way? The only time I can sort of understand it, is maybe if a YouTuber/Streamer played FPS exclusively and then suddenly only played racing games or fighting games. Maybe completely changing the genre would put you off. But... if somebody makes content covering a wide vareity of games, on different platforms... why would you only want them playing ONE game? Don't you subscribe to them for their personality?
Personally I just don't like MOBAs, they don't interest me and I find them boring to watch. So for me, the lack of SMITE is good, especially when I'm moderating his streams! ;) But even then, I was still watching his streams, even when he played a genre I didn't care for. I have no intention of playing Pokémon, but I'll watch him stream it as it's frankly hilarious to watch.
TL;DR - People are shits. Play what you want to play. If people unsub you for it, you didn't want them following you anyway.
IT'S BOSHY TIME
Over the last couple weeks a streamer/youtuber I follow named Squiiddish has been streaming himself doing a blind run of Pokémon LeafGreen and (currently) Emerald via an emulator.
He has never played any of the Pokémon games before. He watched some of the cartoon when it first started, but that is about it.
The footage of this video is from his run in the Post game Sevii Islands and is his first encounter with the Pokémon Sudowoodo and his reactions.

I want to go to shower but I also don't want to miss anything from Squiiddish's stream :/
Ah the problems...
