"Music Island Missions: Zoshling Encounters" - Captain Squirk color edit from 2022
Okay, since this Summer we got the news of the Moshi Monsters revival kickstarter, it gave me the idea to post something that I made years ago, but didn't post it on my social medias. This one is different from my other artworks because this one is more of an edit of a pre-existing artwork seen in a book. I just felt like I wanted to give a "color restoration" to a book's black and white artwork because I always wondered what would it look like if it was colored. Afterall, when we were young, we always colored everything, right?
I used the in-game sprite of Captain Squirk as a color reference and made it as soon as accurate to his in-game appearance, such as not having outlines on his arms and legs... with the only exception being the red part from his torso, because in the original artwork, it looked more three-dimensional.
Just to clarify, this is my only "color restoration" edit that I have made, because I'm mostly focusing on original art. This edit was just for fun and experimental.
For the amazing (original) illustrations, the credit goes to the artist who contributed on Moshi Monsters' "Music Island Missions" books (I can't find who is the artist behind those)! The edit is made by me.
