(I’m testing out new names hehe)
how’s life been for you lately? Anything good to report?
I would honestly like some advice cause I have rather big exams coming up but my executive dysfunction is kicking in really really strong so do you happen to have any tips to power through it?
ahh I’m sorry I keep on asking for advice and stuff liddat it’s cause I see you as an older sibling figure so if it makes you feel awkward you don’t have to respond or anything
take care and have a gr8 day ahead!!
hello hello! life's been... honestly, it's been looking better lately. after having a serious breakdown (after not having cried for a year, i learned that crying is super cathartic, y'all), i re-established the routine that i was given as a suggestion and i've been feeling a little better because of it! of course, i still need to work on my work habits, but i'm getting up, getting out, getting stuff done... so i'm a little happier these days 🥰
oh, and as for exam advice, i'm actually in mid-term season myself and yeah, i'd also like to consider myself a perpetual victim of executive dysfunction.. but something that i'm teaching myself to do is breaking all my tasks down into bite-sized pieces for me to tackle one-by-one!
so sometimes, i'll be daunted by the idea of reading and taking notes and analyzing a text — like together, the entire task seems like too much and i just don't wanna do it. but i have to literally section it off so that i don't get overwhelmed. sure, it's okay to read and annotate and take notes at the same time, but if that's too much, then i start out reading. once i get comfy doing so, i pick up a pen and start to annotate. after that, if i get comfortable enough, i start to take notes, and then look at that! i've completed my assigned task! i can move on to the next! (or reward myself a little for doing the one i just completed; rewarding yourself is super duper important!)
the same goes for literally everything else; if the task(s) seems too bulky, then i cut it into smaller pieces so i can get it done ☝🏽 i can thank my mom for teaching me to do that 🥰
and don't apologize! i think that's really cute, wait 🥺💕 my actual little siblings are much too young for me to give actual advice to, so whenever you ask, i'm more than happy to try and give some if i can :D ♡ you take good care of yourself as well, yeah? you're gonna do great during exam season, i promise! 🫂💗
