Do you think Inho already knew that the waiter that VIP took with him was Junho, or at least suspected it? He already knew Junho was the intruder, and checked on that VIP later too so there was chance.

If yes, what's your thoughts about it? Will they bring that up in s3? Because as much as I know Inho doesn't have much authority with the VIPs and he cares about Junho, it still doesn't sits right with me that he let that happen to Junho with no protest and still serves those VIPs.

i think at that point he knew it was jun-ho. for one, his voice. while muffled, he still likely would have had some kind of hunch. not to mention general stature, positioning, etc. considering how close these two were, and the fact that in-ho was a detective as well (which requires meticulous detailing), i think he probably knew. which means he was probably mentally preparing himself to face his brother as well!!!! while also dealing with the slimy vips lol. rip in-ho ig

i think they have a good chance of bringing it up in s3. it's clear jun-ho remembers and suffers trauma from his time on the island in general, as well as with the vips. if it does get brought up, it will likely be by jun-ho, not in-ho. but that's just what i think.

(and don't worry, it doesn't sit right with me either. he's such a fucking goddamn ass-kisser. he just let it happen, not even a fraction of an attempt. but no!!!! gotta turn the lights off for the pissbaby vips instead! jackass. although i do still think he did feel remorse for jun-ho in that moment, it still pisses me off. my poor jun-ho.)

thoughts on saebyeok and the hype abt her

i absolutely adore sae-byeok!! she’s in my top tier of favorites tbh.

people often seem to overlook how caring she is of her brother, which is the entire reason she joined the games in the first place. she wasn’t in crippling debt, she just wanted her family all together and to live a happy, liberated life with her remaining relatives.

she’s so jaded because of the things she’s seen, and all of the things she’s been through. she’s not just a cold-hearted, uncaring girl, she’s incredibly protective and caring— she’s just also traumatized. and lonely. this also shows with ji-yeong. originally she comes off as cold with her, but she later learns she can trust ji-yeong and they eventually form a (short-lived) friendship.

speaking of which, her and ji-yeong’s storyline is so sad and it makes me cry every single time. one of the first friends she’s met sacrifices herself in a you-or-me situation. you can see how badly it affects her, how pained she looks.

if this were to be in a canonical universe however i’d see it as very angsty and onesided, considering i canonically hc jun-ho as aroace. like the officer would get suspicious of jun-ho/“029” sneaking around (considering he seems to he a veteran and associated with the organ ring) and while trying to stiff him out, accidentally gets infatuated with him. meanwhile jun-ho’s locked in on finding his brother and dgaf.

but in a fanon universe or smth (like the rp circle!!) that would be fun asf yesyes

i personally really like han mi-nyeo! i think she's incredibly interesting but also overlooked, like seon-nyeo.

some of her behaviors resemble that of an abuse victim, perhaps by a past father or boyfriend or other male figure/role model. (i am willing to elaborate, i think i have in the past tho lol) she is incredibly strong and capable, and while she may not have the book smarts, she is very smart in her own way. one thing i really loved was her death scene - how she used il-nam's tug of war tactic of leaning backwards to give her the upper hand.

she's also beautiful. i love old women 💗💗

i do see it as a genuine likely possibility.

we need to keep in mind that squid game is an allegory for the detriments of capitalism in a society, as well as other significant messages like division (as seen with the voting) and the supposed illusion of choice.

to me, this possibility, as shocking at it would be, would fit that narrative. but at the same time part of me doesn’t know what to think/if i 100% believe it, so idk.

idk i’m not much of a predictor/theorized when it comes to actual future events lol, predicting stuff always gives me false beliefs so i try to avoid it as much as possible when watching things.

thoughts on sanginho and aliwoo

..imma be fr i do Not fw either of these ships 😭 i dislike romantic aliwoo significantly more than sanginho tho

aliwoo i have some strong thoughts on.

platonic? sure! i can see them as friends outside the game.

but romantically?

there is a very very obvious power imbalance they have. and while sangwoo does try his hardest to flatten it, its still very much there. ali continues to see him as a higher status, looking up to him in a more professional sense. i like to think that while sang-woo loathes himself and hates his very existence/feels he doesn't deserve the nice things he has, he still had developed something of a superiority complex on the surface, to subconsciously conceal the feelings of failure and disgust he felt with himself. as stated by directors, sang-woo felt it was his moral obligation to give ali the bus fare and his food. not to mention, while panicking, he lists all the things he did good for ali, guilt-tripping him in a sense, and yet again, taking advantage of him, using subconscious senses of superiority against him.

(and no! developing a superiority complex does not necessarily mean one believes they are better than others. i feel like all of this is locked away in his subconscience, and he is unable to see it. these are just little details i've noticed. self-loathing and distinct feelings of superiority/"rightness" are not mutually exclusive.)

i also just feel like ali would be happiest with his wife and child. they're hetero couple goals /hj -- i see ali and sang-woo better off platonically. but platonically? HELL YES! i adore platonic!aliwoo.

(something else that one of my moots and i discussed. sang-woo was likely one of the first koreans to take ali for what he was worth instead of dehumanizing and treating him like an alien. which makes the betrayal even more tragic!)

as for sanginho…. idk i just feel like their personalities would clash bad and if you tried to make them be in a relationship, as toxic as it would be, it would still be insanely ooc. idk it’s just not my thing lol (i will say, the “fuck gi-hun” memes are funny tho) i just think they’d clash quite awfully and not in the good “oooo entertaining mwahahah” way. it's also hard to tell because they don't even know of each other's existences lmfao

I LOVE JUN-HO SO MUCH!!!! he and sang-woo are tied for my favorites.

while he’s beautiful indeed, there’s so much more to him than that. i love how level-headed he is, even when faced in danger. i love how caring he is about his brother, even if his brother happens to be the living spawn of satan. his entire story arc pushes the plot so much and people overlook that ☹️

i wanna see more about him and woo-seok’s dynamic. gah i think they’d be such cute buddies.

i also NEED hwang brothers closure. oh my god i need it so bad. if we don’t get hwang bros closure in some way i’m DONE bye off this earth this post has some more information on how i feel about them!!!!

he also seems to have such a raw internal image, even wishing he’d died instead of in-ho’s wife, EVEN NOW. even after all the shit he witnessed. god jun-ho you are just too good for this world.
