A broad smile stretches across Isui’s features as he watches the human lower himself onto the dock, his own fingers curling firmly around the edge of the wood that was beginning to splinter and crack with age. He’s careful as he pushes himself upwards to meet Kenji halfway, not wanting to bump into him nor does he want to cause a shard of wood to go into either of their skin.
The feeling of Kenji is always nice, but his lips especially make the mermaid’s heart flutter in his chest. Dry without being chapped and warm like the rocks he’ll sometimes lay on to watch the sun set. His breath catches in his throat upon contact and he can’t help but grin like an absolute fool as they kiss.
With the grip of his right hand tightening against the boards to steady himself, he raises his left to lightly cusp the side of Kenji’s face.
“I wish we could do this all of the time,” he breathes against his mouth.
