Frat
Twas the night before Friday,
when all through the house
not a creature was stirring
because they were all out.
The bottles lay on the table without a care
in hopes that drunkenness would soon be there.
The students were nestled at the tables with friends
with visions of drunkies danced to no ends.
While DDs were settled and waiting to drive the car,
we all settled our stomach for a long night at the bar.
When out on the dance floor, arose such a clatter,
everyone rushed with cameras ready to see what was the matter.
The bouncers had just broken up a brawl,
then people started leaving for the night was almost at a halt.
Time was up as the clock struck two
and lights came on all through the room.
On pledge, on brothers, on sisters, and sobers
come get your friends so they don’t drive drunk and get pulled over.
With everyone safely home and snuggled in a bed
class and work would be rough in the morning but at least it’s the weekend.
