I'm definitely going to look into these Toby Daye books. Can I interest you in A Court of Thorns and Roses? Just that one, ignore it's a series, but that book is one of my favorites. It's very fun and full of broken jerks who want to love.

Ooh, it looks interesting!  I have to admit, though, I did my damndest to read that author’s big novel (Throne of Glass, I think?  something about a knife, possibly?) with extremely minimal success--I just couldn’t get into it.  So I might wait until I can acquire Court of Thorns and Roses from a library, rather than spending money on it.

AND YES, TOBY DAYE IS A GREAT SERIES: MY PITCH, AND THE LINK TO THE FIRST ONE

Now the wait was starting to get insufferable. If his driver ever showed up this late, he would have both fired the old one and hired a new one before now. Didn’t they have an agenda to keep up with? He couldn’t help but tap his dress shoes on the pavement, a click echoing in response. Occasionally, he even glanced at his watch. He knew watching the time was a terrible idea and reluctantly stepped down from the stairs.

Through his survey, his eyes were met with an angelic color themed individual. If it wasn’t for the hair, he would have assumed homeless. ( Not that it wasn’t impossible. ) He let out a soft sigh and moved a bit closer as if to examine the student closer. 

“If you are super high school level homeless, you are doing a remarkable job,” he stated bluntly and without hesitation.
