sam being the one to write “sam is responsible” in ranboo’s memory book is so heartbreaking and so sweet at the same time because its such a clear gesture of protection, of “please, please don’t blame yourself” but it is also so indicative of sam’s anger at himself because he could have just as easily written “no one is responsible” or “dream is responsible” - he isn’t telling ranboo it’s his fault just to make him feel better, which makes it that much more painful because you realize he actually believes it

man. sam nook telling tommy to go destroy the egg and that he’s a hero is kind of the saddest fuckin thing. sam nook has been an escape from all of the doomsday deadly traumatizing plot shit and then hes the one to drag tommy kicking and screaming back into lore? and the way it’s just presented as, like, of course you’re going to destroy the egg, tommy! you’re the hero! is so... sad. because he shouldnt have to be a hero anymore. he’s just a kid

i think wilbur’s revival tells a really interesting story about depression and suicide, because his total joy and wonder at being alive and being able to experience life is undeniable. he says it verbatim: i thought i wanted to die, but i’ve seen what hell is... life is a horse and i’m going to ride it. even if he’s fucked up, and even if his revival results in something terrible, he is excited to be alive. he tried dying. it made things worse, and now the sunrise is his. quite literally: life is good

the obsession with finding out ccs' sexualities is the weirdest fucking thing. especially because of the inherent disrespect that comes with it. stans will continue to speculate even when their favorite cc explicitly says that they don't want them to do that. im guessing it comes from a desire for representation, but i feel like in pursuit of the idea of representation they lose the actual reason people want representation, which is to make people feel seen and respected and normal. that shouldn't come at the cost of making one of those people disrespected and harassed? coming out is a personal choice. outing someone doesn't suddenly become okay when the person is famous and has people looking up to them, because it is basic respect.

tommy’s death in the prison and the preceding apathy surrounding his entrapment is a criticism of authority. point blank full stop. because when the news came to everyone that tommy had been trapped in his cell, the greatest response was “aw, really? damn.” and that wasn’t because nobody cares about tommy - they all saw it as a necessary evil. they knew why tommy was trapped - there was a security breach, right? of course tommy has to stay in there for the full week. it’s just protocol. they didn’t even know they should be concerned, because as far as they knew, everything was going just as it was supposed to. sam had it under control.

except he didn’t.

they placed their trust and the life of one of their own in the hands of the most undisputed authority on the server, and it got him killed because they didn’t bother questioning the rules. of course tommy died. of course he did.

we gotta remember that the prison did not have a neutral or even ‘justice-oriented’ (impossible with prisons btw lol) conception. it was commissioned by dream explicitly for the purpose of confining people in order to hold power over them and the people close to them, similar to how he was planning to keep skeppy in his vault. it was not created to house criminals, it was repurposed to house a criminal.

quackity is chasing fulfillment in a country, just like he’s seen everyone around him and everyone he cares about do. he’s refuting rejection from sapnap and karl with las nevadas, and he is trying to fill the hole in his heart, declaring his independence and his self-sufficiency. las nevadas is big and beautiful and impressive, but underneath the glitz and glam it’s hollow. meaningless. just like the city he’s sinking his life into, this endeavor to fill his heart will ultimately fail. he knows every chump who comes into las nevadas loses, but he doesn’t realize he’s one, too.

despite the new culture of consent (eg going over creators’ boundaries regularly) the entire dsmp fandom is still very weird about the cc’s personal relationships. im talking about people being like Defend bad! and getting mad at other ccs when they curse around him or like getting pissed at ccs for making jokes about their friends to... the friends. im reminded of one of techno’s earlier videos where when bad was kicked from mcc and skeppy dropped in support, people were getting mad at him for not dropping too when he had talked to bad and skeppy and they were ok with him staying in like... ccs can talk to each other! they’re adults! they can handle themselves! they dont need an army of teenagers defending them
