What can I say...truth...
View From A Blue Moon
Story of the day:
As some of you may know, I have recently decided to add surfing to my list of hobbies and past times. So far this "Summer," I know it is not quite summer yet, I have been able to go out on Lake Ontario a couple of times and practice/learn to surf. I am absolutely enthralled by it. I love every second of being out on the water, even when I am falling off my board. I know it won't be easy, or even, to some, the most practical thing to do in Western New York. Especially since most people that I have told about my new endeavors, have responded with "Where are you going to surf in New York? There are no waves here! There is no ocean!" However, I am filled with gratitude and a new found appreciation for living in Western New York. Even though there are some disbelievers you can surf on a lake, and I for one love it. I take pride in myself for just being able to actually stand up on the surf board even if I don't ride a wave, big or small. I also am so happy that I can learnt o do something I have wanted to do since I was a little girl, and not fear seeing a shark, because honestly that terrifies me so much. There are no sharks in Lake Ontario or Lake Erie, but there are waves. So here is to new experiences, and a long summer filled with learning, sand, surf, and sun. I for one am really looking forward to the summer. I hope all of you enjoy it too!
