a reoccurring pattern, one he keeps too close an eye on considering his new position — relatively new anyway. he feels like a rookie soldier again, adjusting and trying to keep up with his teammates, if only he didn’t have to keep running down to district nine out of nowhere every once in a while without proper reason. after all, he can’t tell any of his superiors that some new gadget has shown up at his house and now he has to find out its origin from the thief who took it in the first place so he can pay.
his baby siblings look all too eager to keep the portable music player and he sighs each time this happens — but carmen gave it to us. he doesn’t have it in him to tell them that carmen is also a wanted criminal that he’s yet to bring in because of their affection towards her. he practically slams the pawn shop door open, probably to a complaint from the owner too, and he narrows his gaze on her right away ( never mind how easy it is for him to spot her now ).
