Day 30

So I googled what the word meant to be sure I knew what I was drawing. “Endgame” is like the final few steps before victory, if I’m not misunderstanding. So, here’s what Quint believes is her endgame (because I decided semi-recently that she deserves a character arc).

Lore:

She was happy, once.

She lived in a peaceful timeline. Wily hadn’t attacked in years, making her finally able to disarm. Her twin had finally come home, seemingly for good. They’d found a more sustainable work-around for her older brother’s condition. Her father was working on another sibling for them, too (how exciting!).

Everything was good.

She was happy.

Until it was all taken from her.

Stolen from her timeline and reprogrammed to fight her past self, Quint couldn’t help but get bitter and angry. Everything was finally good, finally perfect; how could he just throw that away?!

She was defeated and eventually reprogrammed so the “Fight Roll” directive was removed, but without the Time Skimmer she couldn’t return home.

The Time Skimmer was top secret. She didn’t know where it was, or even who built it.

For a while, she would be a very angry, very sad ally from the future. Roll couldn’t get much out of her other than her name - her new one, “Quint”, that is - and the occasional death threat, but she wanted to get to know her.

(Quint didn’t want the same. Roll only made her homesick.)

Then one day she overheard something about a lab that studies spacetime. She with a new lead, she began to chase her objective again with more desperation than ever before.

Eventually, she found the place.

The Chronos Institute.

And they were going to send her home, even if she had to force them to.

Built to be the greatest Her creator’s Ultimate Weapon A conquest ending in Failure So, defeated, he disarmed her

Then out from the past one day A version of her creator came With a plan and a part she could play A final chance to prove her worth and they took it away.

She’d done everything right! Who “fills the role better?!” What makes HER so good that they’d replace and forget her?!

Was she not good enough? She felt hurt, slighted-

…Nothing would ever be good enough. Her creator is… shortsighted.

…She will just have to demonstrate. Weapons are built for war. He will witness her kill the usurper Destroy her thoroughly, past and future.

Oh, she will show him! She will show them all. She is his Ultimate Weapon, And by her blade they’ll fall.
