i think school spirits is a very solid show but i do think in expanding all the lore (in very interesting ways!) we've lost a bit of the character development-y moments. like, quinn and rhonda kissed then never interacted again for the rest of the season bc everything else was more urgent ajklsdf;ajsdlkf. it's fine, i think we'll get more in s4 and the show has to juggle so many characters it's understandable some things get shoved aside for a little bit. i guess i just am a tiiiiiiny bit tired of all the big plot stuff because i miss the quieter forced introspective days learning about everyone's brutal deaths aj;lsdfasd.

i'm so glad we got to see what was beyond the doors. i think janet crossing over at the start of the season felt really sudden in a way that kinda necessitated more? so it's nice to see that she's been able to actually do science about it all. and probably lez out with dawn.

i just remembered i thought for a second that kyle was going to let maddie's dad take his body instead. it isn't something that would have made sense--we don't get enough of their bond and there isn't any sense that kyle has some big mysteries he's super interested in solving at the hospital lol. but he hesitated so long it gave me a second to think about what that would be like because dave has a family to go back to and we don't really know if kyle does. who Deserves to return to being alive, yk.

i think it's REALLY funny that maddie's love interest looks like her dad and who was probably born around 10 years before her dad was

#ss tag #wally died in 1983 so he was probably born in like 1966-ish????#and we know maddie's mom was a senior when charley died in 1994 so if her mom and dad are similar ages they wouldve been born #in 1976-ish #so it's just. funny to me. that culturally wally would've had some similarities growing up in a similar time #and that they would be around the same age had they both lived #and that they look really similar #like ms. maddie daddy issues nears is just compensating SO hard (and also coping with half dying with one #of the only other ghosts available to fuck BUT IT WAS SUCH A CHOICE FROM CASTING LMAO)

anyway it does kinda suck that quinn and rhonda's relationship just kinda faded once they became canon. they got a little nod of recognition from mr. martin two episodes ago, and this most recent one we got a quick shot of them at the piano together and rhonda saying she'd cross over even if it meant leaving quinn behind as;jldklkajdl;fkjasldkfj.

#ss tag #i love that we have them at all and i don't think there is much breathing room in the story for them rn anyway #i can see them becoming more of a thing in season 4 #esp since i assume their relationship is rly important for their keys to crossing over (rhonda being vulnerable - quinn being themself)#which shouldnt happen anytime soon #BUT it does feel kinda bad that the m/f ships get so much attention and the m/m one as well currently whereas the #nonbinary lesbianism shit happening rn is like. not important.
