Linktober Day 4 - Favourite Place; Skyloft
If someone were to ask Link how he felt at this very moment, he wouldn’t have known how to respond. He wouldn’t say scared, nor would he say relieved. Perhaps overwhelmed? Yes, that had a good ring to it. Link was feeling extremely overwhelmed with everything at the moment. But why wouldn’t he have been? I mean, wouldn’t you be overwhelmed with everyone you love putting their faith in you, praying that you would save their dear Zelda, when even you didn't think it possible?
The only place where the boy could find himself at ease was when he was at home, Skyloft. There he could almost force himself to believe that nothing had changed, that she was still here with him. But of course, he knew it was nothing more than a childish dream. He knew Zelda wasn’t here, she was still trapped on the surface, alone and on the run.
Link knew it was unfair of him to stay the night on Skyloft. He knew he should be back down on the surface, continuing his search through the Lanayru Desert But he just couldn’t bring himself to do it, which led him to here.
Link lay motionless on his bed in the academy, horrid and intrusive thoughts swarmed his mind. As hard as he tried to shelter his worries from his fellow knights and knights in training, everyone around him can tell he’s been horribly affected by everything that’s happened.
The boy slowly drifts to sleep, his home in Skyloft comforting him slightly, blissfully unaware of the Nightmares that would soon plague his dreams.
