SSN takes on Jaffa (Chocolate Orange) cake that was incorporated in the last combo boxes. This time around, we were playing with the texture of the chocolate cake. Crumbly and in-between spongy and truffle-like cake, it is in my opinion taste the best cold rather than the normal room-temperature cake. Because the fudge-truffle like texture compliment so very well with the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate ganache. And the presence of oranges deco give it an extra punch to the whole taste. . I know KB or Kelantan market is not that very bold with flavored chocolate (i love experimenting and indulging in good flavored-chocolate!) but I have this ambition to challenge Kelantanese pallets with bold tasting desserts. I have done it with Matcha and the juries are still out for that one. Whatever it is, challenge accepted. . On another note, InsyaAllah SSN will be revamping a whole lot of thing from making affordable premium bakes in a reasonable definition rather than the conventional “affordable” definition. Our cupcakes are slightly larger in size than the normal home-baked cupcakes. But please also know this, different flavors has different level of shrinking. On our burnt cheesecake. i have a different take on the burnt cheesecake. As I mentioned before, I never tasted the original Basque’s, but from the look of it from photos of those that had, the texture looks kindda custardy and pudding-like. While mine is slightly firmer. As for the level of burntness, mind is slightly burned compared to others because i had a knack for burnt-taste, which you can see from my crème brûlée. But please, don’t asked me which burnt cheesecake is the original one similar to Basque’s. I cannot provide you the answer due to the mentioned factor above.
