Mythical Creatures of Jorvik
Nymph Edition
NIXIE
These nymphs keep waterways clean and flowing. They are often found in any streams, rivers and lakes, though occasionally in some oceans. There are two types to be found in Jorvik so far.
Proteus is a finned horse with striped red and white scales. They are found near oceans, typically at the mouth of rivers or along beaches. This Nixie is said to be protective of the fish in its territory, damaging fishing boats.
Sedna is a finned horse with golden scales. They are found in rivers and lakes. Fond of shiny things, this Nixie will hoard lost items, stealing it from any swimmers, divers or boaters.
BARKHEART
Tasked to take care of woodlands, these nymphs carry the essence of trees with their bark coats, walking around like live trees. There are two types to be found in Jorvik so far.
Birkir is a commonly found nymph in the Silverglade Region. This Barkheart carries silver birch tree coats with a leafy mane and tail of a vibrant green. Said to be very elegant and delicate with their movements.
Hanami is a rarer nymph, glimpsed wandering either near Doyle's Abbey, Mistfall or in Hollow Woods, where three lone cherry trees stand. They carry dark cherry wood coats with a cherry-blossom mane and tail. Slow-moving and gentle, this Barkheart smells heavily of cherries.
POOKA
These rocky nymphs manage pandoric energy throughout Jorvik and guard their runestones. They have two different forms, fading from one to the other, which state where the pandoric energy is at.
Petra is the more balanced and peaceful form. Their rocky flesh is more natural and similar to their runestones, being a mossy, tan-coloured rock. There are many rune markings carved into them, glowing with a faint, gentle purple. In this form, the Pooka is incredibly gentle and still, often being mistaken for literal stone.
Erinys is the angry and corrupted form, typically appearing whenever the pandoric energy is severely upset or if the runestone has been broken. Their rocky flesh is dark with a indigo hue with their rune markings glowing with a vibrant, fiery purple. In this form, the Pooka is volatile and prone to attacking.
WHINFELL
Preferring open plains, like large meadows and fields, this nymph takes care of plants, making them flourish.
