stranger liv is a neighbor & family friend to the wheelers!
she spent most of her childhood just a few houses down. she went to hawkins middle, graduated from hawkins high, moved to the city... and then moved back to hawkins a few years later way cooler. better hair. better clothes. more intimidating.
she misses the big city but she ran out of money. so she moved back to hawkins, moved back in with her dad, works at his company to save cash, and dreams of leaving again one day.
since moving back to hawkins she doesn't quite feel like she has much in common with the people around her anymore. and she doesn't really want to have much in common with them. she wants to leave, to go back to the big city, so she's kinda like a ghost. she's around and people try to nail her down, but she doesn't let them. she gets invited to parties and she stops by, has a drink, makes a round, but she leaves early. she smiles when boys ask her out but she never says yes. she's known and liked, fairly popular, friendly and chatty, but no one really knows what she has going on except her. and she likes it like that.
if she is not at work she is at the mall! and if she is not at the mall she is at the record store! and if she is not at the record store she is at family video! and if she is not at family video she is at home, blasting music, watching a movie, talking on the phone, or doing her hair. or all of the above. orrr. she's with mike and his friends.
it started with the nintendo. mike and his friends found out she had a nintendo and a big screen tv and they started coming over to ask if they could use them. and she said sure, because mike's a family friend and they're good kids and she doesn't play it very often anyway. and she lives with her dad but he's usually out of town for work, so the company is kind of nice! and then they started eating her snacks while they played. and then they started staying for dinner. and then they started passing out on her living room floor on the weekends. and then before she knew it, she was a babysitter, an older sister, a registered adult to them. they're always around. she drives them to the arcade, to the movies, she picks them up from school, from hellfire club... and that is how she meets a certain someone.
she's fun! her sense of style is fun! she's used to eyes on her and she secretly likes the attention, so she enjoys being bold! she's not afraid to show her body with cute shorts or tight spandex and she's not afraid to wear bright colors, from pastels to day glow! and while she'll happily wear heels or boots, depending on what goes best with the outfit, her sneakers are her go-to. she is known for her hair (look out, steve) because it's red and it's big and she loooves having fun with makeup, whether it's glitter eyes or bold lips.
as for music, she is all about classic rock! she likes pop too, and new wave when it gets popular, but her parents always listened to rock growing up and it's her favorite because of that. U2, toto, styx, boston, the cure, the smiths, kiss, whitesnake, scorpions, zz top, red hot chili peppers... but journey is her number one!
and as for media!!! she loves horror movies. which you wouldn't be able to tell by the way she dresses and presents herself, but she loves 'em. friday the 13th, a nightmare on elm street, the exorcist, the shining... she's always going down to family video to see what's new in the spooky section! but she loves other movies too! the classics, like the breakfast club and back to the future and indiana jones. but she thinks 'this is spinal tap' is probably her favorite of all time. between that and the poster she has of kelly from l.a. guns on her wall, the crush she develops on eddie really isn't that much of a surprise.
