Coombe Abbey is a haunted former monastery that is now a hotel found in the United Kingdom. Coombe Abbey is said to be haunted by many ghosts. The most famous one is that of Abbot Geoffrey who was murdered in 1345 and he sis seen as a monk in a hooded robe and he is also blamed for throwing pots and pans around in the kitchen and his killer has never been found to this day. Another ghost that is said to haunt the Abbey is that of a girl with green eyes known as Matilda. Matilda was once the stable hand of the Abbey who the master of the house fell in love with. When he found out Matilda was pregnant with his child he refused to believe that he was the father. Matilda later gave birth to a stillborn child and she then laid a curse on the house that any children who are born in the house will die shortly after and after she did that, all of the children the master of the house had died shortly after birth. Matilda is said run up and down the cobblestone, watching people in their rooms at night, and knock on guests doors. Other ghosts include a woman in Victorian clothes riding a bike and a horseman both seen outside on the Abbey’s grounds.
