i want to read shard walker but have never played neva (even tho i wanna) how important is playing it to understanding?

I have a little note about this at the beginning of the fic on Ao3—but actually it’s probably a good idea to make a post about it too so I can add it to the masterpost, so thank you for the ask!! :DD

Basically I’d call it insider knowledge. This is an isat fic first and foremost, and the games I’m crossing over with it are used more like stages (or worlds) to tell the story in/on, so they don’t really have their main plots interacted with in quite the same way.

(Or really at all in Neva’s case. Anything I could call ‘spoilers’ (very minor) is purely worldbuilding).

My beta reader has not played Neva or Rain World (OR isat actually), and I did that on purpose because I wanted it to be accessible to like… a mostly just people who like isat audience. So I would say having played Neva (or rain world for that matter, or any of the other games I’ll add in the future!) isn’t important for understanding. You might get a “oh I know what that is!” Or a “ooh details I know the details teehee..” moment here and there, but this isn’t the kind of crossover where you have to know every fandom to enjoy it. At least, that is my intention in writing it. Just for the isat lovers :3

@thegayestaddams if you want to corroborate these statements or give your own opinion, feel free! I’m obviously coming at this from the limited perspective of… y’know… writing the thing and knowing About All The Things lmao and I consult you for a reason!

A doodle from fan expo. I spent half of thursday night drawing this. We had croissants at our hotel and at one point while me and Pearl were both half-out of our cosplays they went up to me and took a bite of a croissant very tauntingly so obviously I had to draw it with Sif and Sforz

The corner doodle was a bit after the fact where Pearl remarked that after seeing Siffrin's reaction to the croissants there's a pretty good chance they'd wake up to her holding one over them one morning. Just to see what would happen lmao. Because she's THAT kind of fucked up mad scientist.

Have any of you heard?? Of DIE rpg??? Of the DIE comics???? Because you. You should go look into them. They’re REALLY good. Written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Stephanie Hans they are SO GOOD THEY ARE IMMACULATE they’re my favorite books ever. AND THE RPG IS REALLY GOOD TOO AND REALLY FUN and please please this is the smallest fandom I’ve ever been in and I need more people to be normal about it with ToTTttTt
