DIE, as seen in the comic by the same name, is about normal people getting transported into a TTRPG. Each character class (called paragon) uses one of the standard polyhedral dice: The DICTATOR: a bard with teeth, plucking heartstrings as often as they snap them. The FOOL: rushing into battle with a smile on their face. As long as they don't think too hard, it'll all go well. Probably. The EMOTION KNIGHT: fueled by a sacred emotion, they lose themselves in it. If they feel it strong enough, they can kill gods, and even ideas. The NEO: a cyberpunk rogue, most adventurers want gold, but they need it. The GODBINDER: clerics and demonologists, using favours and making deals with the gods of this world. The MASTER: the world is a game, and every game has rules. It's up to them to bend it. The landscape of the ttrpg gets shaped by the characters' psyches, and the ultimate choice has to be made unanimously: stay in the game forever, or return to the real world. Dead players get no vote.

In a similar vein to "players expect their GM to be like Matt Mercer" or "players expect their campaign to be like BG3," what about "player who expects their GM to run a game like DIE, ie disappear you for two years and turn you into a girl"

Read The Fellowship of the Ring. Not sure what it means that while I enjoyed it, I came out of it feeling like it was less a text to be read for itself and more a bit of research to deepen my appreciation for the rest of the genre.
Honestly it did more to raise my appreciation for the ways Gillen reworked and referenced LotR in DIE than anything else. I'm losing my "the original was the best"-girl cred over here.

*Dictator is a class in DIErpg centered around the ability to take control of others’ emotions. They are generally hated and feared within the worlds of DIE.

Have any of you heard?? Of DIE rpg??? Of the DIE comics???? Because you. You should go look into them. They’re REALLY good. Written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Stephanie Hans they are SO GOOD THEY ARE IMMACULATE they’re my favorite books ever. AND THE RPG IS REALLY GOOD TOO AND REALLY FUN and please please this is the smallest fandom I’ve ever been in and I need more people to be normal about it with ToTTttTt
