Finally @tumblr staff does something right. They've succeeded in turning the garbage that is known as the "tumblr app" into a rather relaxing experience.
Idea:
Tumblr should add a second kind of reporting button, but this time it let's you report users as "good users" / "not bots" / "staying within tos" which gives them some amount of protection against negative reports and, for example, let's trans people survive mass reports on here
I came across a post of you talking about how you don’t believe staff targets anyone for being trans women, based on your history at tumblr.
sooo
after 200 trans women being banned for following a trans woman, and then all unbanned (including me, which is the second time I’ve been banned and then unbanned on this account) meaning it was all false bans
has that opinion changed at all?
now granted, that isn’t the only case of absurd bans on trans women, just the only one tumblr acknowledged was stupid
i assume you mean this post?
i haven't been following things, but with a quick read no my thoughts haven't changed.
part of how reblogs work is if there's something that violates policy that leads to a strike/ban in the root post, that can affect posts that engaged/rbed it. that sort of thing happened when i was there when CSAM, gore, etc is posted as they need to get rid of that ASAP.
if the bans happened and were reversed my immediate suspicion is someone hit the wrong button. this has happened before- hell, i myself have accidentally banned people bc i was working on a feature that had a bug.
having feels over the boops being back. i wrote some of that code and it's so nice to see it return 😭
staffers: hope things don't break (again)!
well, i'm out. wasn't exactly my choice, but c'est la vie.
i'm really proud of the work i did here, and i'm really touched about the farewells i got from colleagues.
as for next steps, i guess i'll just be another weirdo on this platform. my ask box is open if anyone wants to know stuff from my time at Tumblr. i was present for some... interesting times lol
excited for the next parts of my journey. i'm officially funemployed, but hopefully i find a gig soon enough. and it'll be novel to have actual workers rights! i def won't be as passionate about it as i was with this hellsite, but perhaps i can keep causing problems with some other group that catches my fancy.

coworker reminded me of this gem when i was recently looking at how we delete replies lol. the quote is from the code.
bless you tumblr you bizarre thing held together by string and three hamsters
new easter egg dropped on desktop :3
