HAMMERANVIL FIC IDEA:
OH MY GOD! I was thinking about Alicent and Rhaenyra's fight in season 1 just had an awesome idea, ok, so let me set the scene:
___________________________________________
Baelor(Alpha) and Jena(Beta) have their 2 sons, Valarr and Matarys.
Daeron and Myriah urge Baelor to take a second wife to have a few more children to futher secure the Targaryen line.
Baelor at first very against the idea, but finally agrees to take Maekar(Omega) as a second wife.
Baelor and Maekar have Daeron and Aerion.
Maekar knows his brother has been forced into their marriage out of duty and out of his love for Jena since her body cannnot bear having any more children.
At first there is a lot of tension between Jena and Maekar, Jena understands the duties her husband has to obey and knows in her heart that Baelor loves her.
Maekar knows he is a second wife, a fourth son and never anyone's first choice. He hates that he's now constantly compared to the perfect lady Jena by both his parents and the lord's of the keep. Tension starts to build up.
Something happens, and Maekar snaps at Jena for something menial,Jena snaps right back. They argue in front of the public eye and when Baelor arrives he immediately takes Jena's side without hearing Maekar out.
At that moment, Maekar realises he's all alone.
After this incident, Maekar decides to move and live in summerhall with his children, receiving no resistance from Baelor, who almost seems glad to see them leave.
Years pass and communication is spread thin.
Baelor only gets updates about Daeron and Aerion's upbringing from his mother, Myriah, the only person Maekar keeps in contact with through letters.
Over in summerhall, Maekar has the impression that his family looks down on him for being the fouth son, and Baelor's second wife, an outcast left to his own devices. He dedicates his entire time to raising his children.
In Kingslanding, Baelor always has lords of the red keep whispering poison into his ear about his youngest brothers envy.
This is further fuelled by Jena's worry that Maekar has always been envious of her position as Baelor's true love and first wife. (As though Maekar's children pose a threat to Jena's sons ascension to the throne)
Fastforward a few more years of separation, King Daeron summons Maekar and his sons to Dragonstone, he's fallen ill and wishes for all his family to be together in celebration.
Everyone arrives and there is immediate tension between Jena and Maekar, they don't know how to act around each other. Maekar is cold and blunt and Jena is regal and detached.
Baelor is cordial, using his princely, amicable smile (Maekar recognises it as his political pleasantries *fake smile* )
They all situate themselves withing the castle, and both princes chindren get to reconnect with eachother.
Aerion and Daeron get Valarr and Matarys to sneak out with them past night curfew.
Maybe they get up to some mischief, but something happens.
Maybe Matarys asks a question about Maekar that Daeron doesn't like, maybe Aerion makes fun of Matarys that rubs Valarr the wrong way.
One small altercation turns into a full blown fight, and by the time the kingsguards find them, Matarys has *accidentally* sliced Aerion's eye out.
Everyone is woken up in a panic and by the time everyone congregates into a small room, Maekar is furious.
He demands that Matarys be punished for harming his son.
Another argument between Maekar and Jena ensures.
Jena blames Daeron and Aerion for sneaking her well behaved sons out at night.
Maekar roars about how her perfect children have mutilated and scarred his boy for life.
There's a lot of back and forth until Baelor steps in and, once again, takes Jena's side.
Maekar freezes.
This has happened before. Years ago.
Something small back then, and something so grave right now.
Maekar snaps.
He wants vengeance for his son. He charges and Jena blocks him.
Jena and Maekar are wrestling with a blade and Baelor disarms Maekar.
Maekar pleads one last time.
About how Aerion is Baelor's son.
Baelor is conflicted, but as always, he stands to protect Jena, Valarr and Matarys over Maekar, Daeron and Aerion.
King Daeron has the final say and concludes it was an accident, and that Matarys will not be punished for his actions.
That very next day, as soon as the masters deem it safe for Aerion to travel, Maekar leaves Dragonstone with his children.
He hates Jena, he despises her children.
And any love he once had for his brother is long gone.
Maybe he returns to Summerhall, maybe he crosses paths with a certain Baratheon lord.
Either way, months after this whole dispute, Baelor finally hears news of his brother in one of his mother's letters.
Maekar has taken a new husband, Lyonel Baratheon, and they are now expecting a new child( Aemon, *Aegon, Daella and Rhae will come later*)
And for the first time ever, Baelor has a rotten feeling in his soul. His omega has taken a new husband. His brother-wife is having children with another man?
He's furious, he's conflicted and hurt. And for a moment he wonders if this is how Maekar had felt all those years ago.
Being a second thought, a second option, and never a priority in his mind.
Baelor feels shame and regret, for his actions and, as he watches Valarr and Matarys at Jena's side, he knows there's nothing he could do to ever get his brother back.
-------------------------------
Epilogue - After a few more years, Jena dies, Baelor is alone and miserable.
Maekar is living his best life with all his children and a husband that puts him first.
THE END.
-------------------------------
Sorry if that sounded really evil at the end for Baelor but i couldn't help myself.
I keep seeing fics where Maekar suffers because he loves Baelor so much and Baelor always seems to put Jena first as his wife, and then he cheats on her with Maekar and is always like "I have a loving wife , but you're not allowed to even look at another man because your mine" and I hate it! Maekar deserves happiness too you prick.
Also the power dynamic between Maekar and Jena would be amazing! Like, Jena is Baelor's first wife, but Maekar is the KING'S son. A lot can happen there, lots of potential friction.
And I’m kinda loving the idea of Maekar and Lyonel getting together, which shocks everyone, becuase Lyonel HATES the Targaryens but somehow is enamoured by Maekar and the Maekarlings. He becomes the father that stepped up. And they proceed to have several more maekarlings of their own.
Anyways.
Happy ending for Maekar.
Unhappy ending for Baelor.
That's it, the end.
Ok bye xx
