I was thinking about this Hammeranvil/Laughinganvil omegaverse post, in reference to Ashford events

about their firstborn son, and the only one that's Lyonel's: I thought about naming him Rogar, and I imagine he's got black hair like Baratheons apparently do, with eye colour between purple and dark blue (basically Rhaegel lookalike), and his relationship with Maekar is weird, like Maekar loves him and that's his biggest joy (among other failsons) but it's also the only child that's not his brothers, which gives him a lot of complicated feelings, and Rogar is doing everything to impress his muña and make him proud

(I do want to give them a daughter too, tho, and she would be Lyonel's favourite, but I'm not sure)

now as for Ashford:

Lyonel and Maekar do get a room in the castle, but Lyonel is at the Baratheon Party Tent most of the time while Maekar is with Baelor (you can imagine what are they doing together 😭)

then it all unwinds, Aerion is a little bitch, but now we have Lyonel present at the table as Aerions "father" while they're discussing Dunk's punishment

I imagine Lyonel is actually standing with Dunk here, maybe even calling Aerion a coward or something (and maybe he declares there that he'll take Dunk's side, just to annoy Maekar more)

should their firstborn be taking part in the Trial on Aerion's side? (I imagine he's doing it mostly for Maekar tho, cuz he's a mama's boy but also with tough relationship with said mama)

and now I had two ideas

first, Baelor dies as in canon, Maekar is guilty and devastated, and that's how Lyonel kinda bonds with him? because he was a witness to it ig? later Maekar finds out he's pregnant again and ofc it's not Lyonel's, and then Lyonel says something like "I'll claim it as mine as the other ones" revealing that he knew most of "their" children are actually Baelor's

but that ending lacks something tbh, I don't know what to add here

and the second one, Rogar (their firstborn) dies from Baelor's hand (I had an evil smile writing this) and he actually dies in Maekar's arms, asking "are you proud of me muña?" or something, and Maekar is ofc saying yes, saying that he's his first baby, his biggest joy, then Lyonel appears and they're both holding their first son while he inevitably dies (if they don't have a daughter, that's Lyonel's only child)

then Maekar breaks down, blaming Baelor for all that happened, but also blaming himself for not raising Aerion well

I'm not sure if in the second route Maekar should have that baby with Baelor tho?

tbh it's all just a big question mark, and I'm not sure which one sounds better

or maybe should I do two versions with alternate endings?

Stormanvil / Hammeranvil omegaverse AU where kid Lyonel used to be completely besotted with Maekar (who was approximately 10 years older than him). They met once during Baelor’s nameday which also coincided with betrothal news of the King’s apparent heir with his youngest brother, Maekar.

While Maekar was still married to Baelor, he secretly slept with Lyonel and resulted in birth of Daeron, and few years later the birth of Daella.

After Baelor’s death, Lyonel started to court Maekar again but before that he had to get Maekar’s 8 children (2 of them was his actually) approval first.

more Hammeranvil omegaverse mixed with a sprinkle of Laughinganvil

right after Dunk pops up to talk to Baelor about joining the tournament and stuff Maekar is getting ready to leave and look for his missing sons

Baelor tries to reason with him and stop him, because he doesn't want his omega brother to wander through some unknown places all alone, ultimately sending guards behind Maekar's back to retrieve the missing princes, which makes Maekar furious because A. those are HIS pups and B. Baelor is NOT his alpha, although they're both widowed and seeing each other for some time now he still didn't start courting Maekar so it's all informal (it's actually because the King keeps refusing him)

so Maekar leaves in a hurry, all angry, thinking how he can get back at Baelor

that's when he stumbles upon the Baratheon Party Tent

now to add some sauce, they both know Lyonel, back in their youth he asked for Maekar's favour on a tournament before Baelor could, and then on few occasions definitely did steal Maekar for some long, almost inappropriate dance

so Maekar enters the Tent with only one goal: get Lyonel to shag him just to annoy his stupid indecisive brother

there's a lot of tension, Lyonel is teasing him, they're kinda playing around, until Maekar pulls him close and whispers something inappropriate

and then they sneak up back to castle Ashford, so that Baelor will know that some other alpha was entertaining his younger brother for the night

imagine them sitting at the table after the Dunk and Aerion confrontation and Baelor can smell the scent of that other man on Maekar

and then the next day during the Trial he smells it again and knows it was Lyonel

I don't know what's the final thought on this, that's a silly little thing I had in my mind and wanted to share

Inspired by ✨this✨ precious post OP enlightened me to the possibilities that could open with Lyonel x Maekar that I'm so weirded out that no one is talking about their potential😞💔

✰ Advisable to read my Dunkaerion omegaverse AU since I will use the setting I already created to fit StormAnvil in it since it's easier for me🫡

Now I'll go a different route than OP with their idea (no shade<3) and I see the whole setting of the Targaryen showing up at Ashford with Baelor being incredibly calm as the oh so perfect alpha prince of the realm he is while his younger alpha brother Maekar is stressing over losing his kids (yes ik everyone prefers omega!Maekar and HammerAnvil but just hear me out for this one y'all💔), Maekar's desperation is evident to Baelor as to how he's growling and having every single snarky remark possible to anything said, and as is custom between them Baelor uses some words to let him know to calm tf down, which just makes Maekar pissy and sulk angrily in his seat.

From here it could go as usual in the show, after the encounter with Dunk, Maekar organizes a patrol to ride out and look for the boys himself, while going out of the encampments around Ashford, an irritating grating voice (to Maekar ofc) rings out a call for Maekar to wait for him, being none other than one of the heirs to Storm's End, Lyonel Baratheon, the most irritating omega Maekar had ever come across in his years, since Lyonel acted like everything BUT an omega.

(Now this is some simple filler lore based on stuff I've read about alleged past between HammerAnvil and Lyonel in canon and also how in the show i feel that Lyonel spoke to Baelor with an odd sense of familiarity beyond just him being a (lovingly) prick as usual)

He had always remembered in previous events, mostly tournaments, the members of the Baratheon line, and how the small sliver of Valyrian blood in them, was reflected on their house words, "Ours is the Fury" and furious they were to Maekar from the beginning, especially when he had learnt that alpha, betas, and omegas alike from the house, learnt the art of jousting and the sword, uncommon culture to see in such a world as Westeros where few houses were willing to lend omegas such freedom, he had learnt that as Lyonel Baratheon had challenged him to a joust, despite Maekar winning, the psychological torture of the omega being extremely annoying with his arrogance and flaunting during the whole thing made him always rage when he reminisces on the memory, something that Baelor liked to do when he wanted to be amused by how quick tempered his younger brother was

So cut to the present, where Maekar, despite his own wishes, begrudgingly waits for Lyonel to catch up to him on horse as their men escort them finally out of the encampments grounds of the tourney, Lyonel already relaying that he knows of the disappearance of the princes and wanted to help, at least that's the message Maekar gets since Lyonel insists on being annoying and downright flirtatious in his way of conveying his support and Maekar doesn't want any part of it, but dismissing Lyonel would only put his image as prince at stake so he must endure, something that Lyonel is unfortunately aware of.

The whole ride out to looking for his kids would be plagued with Lyonel filling in the silence of it, maybe laying off of his flamboyancy tendencies to instead be more appealing to Maekar, ultimately the one sided silence ends when Lyonel asks if there could be a reason for his sons to not have made it to the tourney, to which Maekar himself can't even say, knowing talking about Daeron's drunk tendencies is anything but advisable as well as Eggon's childish endeavors, Lyonel comprehending with Maekar's silence that there is definitely some family history that he wouldn't get the privilege to know but he has already deduced the answer and there is no need to say it aloud.

Now from here I have fewer ideas of how to fill up what could happen between them to start building tension as they look for the kids, but they return just before dark, as Lyonel is settled in his party tent, he's made aware of bustling happening outside a puppet show tent, only to witness Aerion breaking down with his sword the puppet Lyonel recognized they used to represent a dragon and now approaching the defenseless puppeteer girl, Lyonel knew Aerion was a omega but different, but unlike him in terms of uniqueness they could be defined by his 'alpha-like tendencies' of the art of swords, Aerion had a taste for being cruel and vile despite it going completely against what omegas normally were like, but before Lyonel, a high born lord, could step in, he saw the figure of the handsome huge hedge knight he had grown fond of in a few days, fly past him and strike the prince, a gutsy move even Lyonel would've hesitated to do, especially knowing the consequences.

We progress on to the discussion of the accusations, guided by my previously mention Dunkaerion AU, this time as said Lyonel stands as a witness to Dunk's claims against Prince Aerion, his sly tongue fervent to get the hedge knight his justice, but his exchange of words with the younger brother of the Hand of the King, Baelor senses a sort of tension between Lyonel and Maekar that he knew stemmed from something beyond Maekar being moody as always, yet the setting wouldn't allow him to enquire himself further into it ofc.

Cue the morning before the 1v1 trial where somehow Maekar and Lyonel are able to be alone before said event, Lyonel questioning Maekar's parenting of his children and if he had ever wondered why his kids seemed to be everything BUT like him?? i know they are blunt words to say to a prince but with Maekar that sort of reality check coming from just anyone would leave him stunted, but with Lyonel ofc it has more depth, he might act like an alpha to Maekar's ignorant perspective, but Lyonel was an omega at the end of the day, and a family one from what he had heard around, meaning that even with no kids to him name yet, Lyonel still probably seemed to know more about parenting than him, something his flamboyant personality had camouflaged from Maekar to see

Maybe I'll get more ideas to how to progress this but that's what I have for now<3 events that follow this but no relation to StormAnvil are in my Dunkaerion post!! any ideas, fics or works inspired by this piece id loved to be tagged in✨✨
