I am a theatre professional working my first non-contract, resident job at a theatre, outside of college
Now I am in a full time position, working with other theatrical designers and professionals, who are actively using AI to assist in designs. I would like to bring up to my higher up the harm in the AI usage and why there needs to be policies in place limiting (if not eliminating) its use.
That's where I need some help, if you work in the arts, especially in theater, please reply with why you believe AI should not be utilized in the workplace on any account (including marketing and management) and any solutions/alternatives you may have to its use
credible articles and papers would be most helpful, however even opinions are helpful in my forming of my argument.
I think with a good enough argument my boss would at least be willing to hear me out about this.
my biggest concern for this conversation is that i am BRAND new to this theater (i havent even held my position for 6 months) so I have no idea how to approach this topic without feeling like I am overstepping, but I would rather bring it up when it is a minor conversation (a designer using AI for details) rather than a much larger one (a designer's design was made entirely by AI)
pros to finishing a show:
Now able to start a new show
more free time
no more matinees
cons to finishing a show
No more show..
I'm working the MCR show and I'm so excited
