Hey all! I got into a residency about sharing personal stories of the struggles living with mental illness. I’m doing a piece on my diagnosis of manic anxiety. We are performing during mental health awareness month and my birthday month. Tickets are on sale now on brown paper tickets. The funds not only support us as artists but go to the incredible organization OneMind that does research on mental illness. Earlier this year, I stepped out of my comfort zone and took a solo storytelling class. I developed a piece in class with my teacher, Zahra Noorbakhsh (@zahracomedy ), which I performed at the class showcase. I will also now be presenting it as part of Solo Sundays at Stage Werx this Sunday, August 13th at 7pm. Solo Sundays is a regular event at Stage Werx and I'm honored to be included with this Sunday's lineup as it'll be me and three others (who are actually seasoned performers). I'm not going to lie, the thought of performing makes me queasy, even though I have done this piece before!
