Testing out some stitches for a sweater for J. This is the second test swatch. I definitely like the honeycomb pattern on the left, but I'm still not sure if this staghorn (on the right) is exactly the right thing for the center panel.

I finished the hat. I'm wearing it around for the day to see if I like it. Not sure yet, so it might become a gift.
This is finally, I think, my last test swatch for J's sweater. Sideways, but it's half of the front panel, with the center at the bottom here. On the left/bottom is my previous plan, with the big staghorn in the middle and honeycomb flanking, and on the right is the next plan, with honeycomb in the center and a smaller staghorn beside.
I really like the second one and would happily have done that, but J still prefers the larger staghorn in the center, so that's what it will be!
I also tested some variations on moss stitch. L to R: double, single, then one that's basically double the other way I guess (k2, p2, then reverse in the next row), and finally 2x2 squares. All are nice textures, but the double moss stitch is my favorite, so I'll use that.
Hi bbs! I taught myself how to knit in the round last night!
So excited to work on this project! Once it's finished it'll be fingerless mittens with a staghorn cable pattern. Which i obviously did not pick because of the staghorns in the throne of glass series which is coincidentally my favourite book series. Nope. that was not the reason.
haha. lots of knitting love xoxo
And the epic cable cowl keeps on growing.. Pattern is available here. ^-^
I freaking love knitting cables!
