I’m going to be straight up honest with you all here: I adore basslines. Australian disco duo, Yasumo, manage to whisk me off to paradise with this remix of Airwolf’s Lose The Lazy and it’s absolutely monumentous! The basslines, the appropriately placed trumpet samples… It all adds up!

This one had me exhaling in deep, aching sighs while I was listening to it earlier, and it has me doing the same again now. Solo Hunter is a lonesome beauty from Melbourne, Australia’s STAHSI, who weaves a minimalist downtempo soundscape steeped in poignant melancholy. Shadowy, ghostly murmurs suffuse the haunting song. It’s a goosebump raising, shiver inducing gem and the title track from STAHSI’s upcoming EP. The skeletal spaciousness of Deptford Goth meets the melodrama of SOHN on Solo Hunter, with a touch of Lapsley textured electro R&B and a sprinkling of Mt. Wolf dream folk atmosphere. Solo Hunter has me giddy with excitement for STAHSI’s EP. UPDATE: Days later, I’m listening to Solo Hunter and realizing what it’s been reminding me of all this time that I couldn’t quite grasp previously... Some of my favorite more downtempo and sparse Temper Trap ballads (ie. Soldier On, etc).

You didn’t think we were going to let a Friday go down without some tantalizing, textured future trap, did you? Of course not. Young Australian producer TOBIAHS gives us a spectacular future bass and chill trap remix of fellow Down Under producer AIRWOLF’s summery dance tune Lose The Lazy, featuring Stahsi. I only encountered AIRWOLF’s song earlier this week, via this remix, and have been waiting for the opportune moment to drop this gorgeously pulsing, and shimmering treat on you.

New on my plate of music discoveries is an Australian producer who goes by the name AIRWOLF. His summery electronic song Lose The Lazy, which features Stahsi, is a thrilling, infectious fusion of electro house, dance pop, and nu-disco. Irresistibly catchy melody and a buoyant tempo quickly wooed me over. It’s a song so warm and uplifting that I can feel all my worries melting away away. At least, for the moment...
