How to Give Your Stairway a Pretty Interesting Look?

Out of all the areas in our house, the area that gets the least attention is probably our stairway. The reason why most of us ignore it because it’s a tedious area as there’s not much we can do with it. However, if we can bring out our creative side, there are a lot of things can be done to give the stairway a much interesting look.

To start with, it relies on which stairway you’ve. Is it the one leading to the upper level of your house or the lower level? However, you can address them both a bit differently. Let’s talk about it a bit briefly.

The Upper Level Stairs:

This is perhaps the stair that is more open and always in view. Here you’ve to keep your ingenuity somewhat in check making certain it flows well with the rest of the home. You really don’t wish to make it the central point but you do wish it look interesting. The challenge here is really making it tie in with the area, which is probably the hallway. However, there’re staircases that run directly off a room such as a kitchen or living room for example.

Presuming the stairs that we’re dealing with are running off the hallway, then the walls that the stairs are pushed up against will most probably be the same as the hall walls. You don’t wish to place anything on the railing or stairs that are going to be risky.

If the walls are neutral, consider employing stair runners of carpet that are bold and bright probably in a floral pattern. This can certainly add some spark to a full set of stairs.

For the wall on your left side going up the stair, consider employing various sized framed mirrors. This’ll form the illusion of a much larger area, which is helpful to a contracted hallway.

If you’ve stair rails, put a flowerpot to the side of the stairs at the foot & let ivy twine its way around the stair rails. Don’t allow it wrap around the stairway banister itself though. This is surely an attention grabber.

The lower level stairs:

You can be a bit funky here if you like as in the majority of the cases there’s a door leading down the lower level stair. Here you have the opportunity to form a hodgepodge of images on the walls & paint the stains in some distinctive geometric patterns. Here you can allow your ingenuity run wild.
