Looking out onto the fine sunset that was always proffered by the City of Glass, he can’t help but feel a measure of relief that the house was still here. Even though there was no way of them knowing that the stars they had been under for some time were no these, nor that they had ever been under these stars at all, there is still relief.
An oasis among a sea of stars. A twinkling universe at the edge of theirs. Not untouched, but in its beauty something to behold, and a place to simply be, for a time.
