Philately developed as soon as the first French postage stamp was published in 1849.From 1860, collectors got into the habit of meeting, and soon the salons began to flourish.
The post commemorates with this block the 150 years (in 2010) of the stamp exchange and which pays tribute to five philatelists among the most famous: - Franklin Delano Roosevelt 32nd President of the United States
- Lucien Berthelot former President of the Federation international philately.
- Louis Yvert, co-founder of the philatelic house Yvert and Tellier.
- Arthur Maury, philatelist author of a quotation catalog stamps.
- Alberto Bolaffi, trader in postage stamps.
