The act of resistance is our defining act as human beings. To say "No, I will not stand for that." I will not colude, collaborate, negotiate, I will not compromise. To say to the enemies of freedom "You are wrong." To resist, whatever the cost.

Imagine being a servant girl to Loki by Frigga’s orders; you’d wake up before the crack of dawn since the prince wakes up even earlier, you grit your teeth and slap yourself every morning to force yourself awake.
Imagine realising one night as you were tasked to stand guard infront of the Lady Sif’s chambers, you realise that the prince didn’t actually sleep very much, candlelight flickering on and off every few hours.
You beg the healers for a sleep drought and place it at his bedside table the next day when you tidy his room (the prince was a neat freak, there wasn’t much to do anyway). Loki doesn’t ever admit it, but the prince began to ask you to read out the volumes of magic he had lying around whilst he slept, giving a peasant like yourself a chance to learn magic.
Imagine you smiling whenever he bantered with Thor about that.
“Loki, these are dangerous magics, you couldn’t possibly reveal them to a servant girl!”
“Very well, you can read them to me then.”
“I have duties to attend to!”
“Then perhaps you could close the door on your way out, you’re interrupting the reading of my favourite spell.”
