4-0 at my local Standard Showdown with U/B Pirates + Scarab God! Vizier of Many Faces post-board was an all star in my final game, copying my opponent's Noxious Gearhulk a total of 7 times between games 2 and 3.

The Ten Millionth Event at OMG Games

If you have a Standard deck and live in or around the Barrie, Ontario area, then this news is for you. The ten millionth official sanctioned event created using Wizards’ event reporting software is this weekend at OMG Games in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Wizards representatives will be present at the event in celebration of the milestone, and proceeds from the event will be donated to the local Children’s Aid Society branch. Prizes include packs of Hour of Devastation as well as special Standard Showdown promo packs for random participants.

Standard Showdown Report: Temur Energy

obvi everyone knows how this decks works so i’m just writing this for myself mostly to refer back to anywayy

Results: 2-1

Round 1: Grixis Tezzerator/Control? 2-1

Got a slow start G1 and couldn’t deal with bolas, but G2 and 3 wrapped up pretty easily since my meta is full of control so unfortunately for opponent my SB was stacked for it.

In: 1x lifecrafter’s bestiary, 1x bounty of the luxa, 3x negate, 1x heroic intervention, 1x glimmer of genius, 1x torrential gearhulk, 2x chandra torch of defiance 

Out: 2x magma spray, 1x sky sovereign, 3x harnessed lightning, 2x essence scatter, 2x bristling hydra

Round 2: 4 Color Energy (temur splash black) 2-0

Had some slow/creature-light starts, but i think my sb was prepared for the mirror a bit more, bestiary smoothed my draws and mb rhonas gave me the leg up in the end.

In:  1x lifecrafter’s bestiary, 1x bounty of the luxa, 1x glimmer of genius, 1x chandra torch of defiance, 2x chandra’s defeat, 1x confiscation coup, 1x torrential gearhulk

note: in the future i probably won’t put in chandra, she’s decent against sultai imo but i hear that pw’s are worse on the draw and that was certainly the case in this match. i took out my big threats because i was afraid of hostage taker, vizier, or scarab god, but maybe this isn’t right!

Round 3: Sultai Energy 0-2 

Welp, my bf and i faced each other in the finals which was awesome but we’ve played this match a ton of times and it seems slightly in sultai’s favor. I got stuck on awkward mana and sank too much energy into my cub (worse than sultai cubs since mine get fatal pushed whenever). I’m really not sure what to do about this matchup!

Standard Showdown

I went to standard showdown.

The breakdown:

Used a zombie deck.

Got paired against someone first round that is the type....that you’re just like...I have lost by just being paired up against him....and then he dropped immediately after winning.

Then I went against my friend and won 2-1.

Then I lost because, like the filthy casual I am, I showed mercy and was nice to give him one more turn. OVER 20 FLYING STRAIGHT AT ME FACE...with no flying to block it with T-T
