2.6 Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Implement teaching strategies for using ICT to expand curriculum learning opportunities for students.
The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in lessons is an important strategy to support curriculum learning opportunities for students. To introduce a unit to students, I will regularly include visual aids such as a PowerPoint presentations or YouTube videos. When introducing theory-based work in visual arts, such as artist research, including imagery of the artist and artwork supports students in gaining a more comprehensive understanding. Additionally, this can help prompt discussion with the students. I will use ICT so students can conduct individual research and image search. I will provide students with digital worksheets with imbedded hyperlinks that will help guide their research and educate students on how to use Google images to find high-quality images suitable for visual arts. For my evidence I have included a PowerPoint presentation that I used to support my explicit teaching and an example of an assessment task sheet with embedded hyperlinks.
