The standard of living or how people view their lives has moderately changed over time. People and our society today has shaped into our mind that power and money is the “true” meaning of happiness. Happiness can’t be defined in accomplishments or drive of work. Money, luxury items, or one night stands etc ultimately will not fill or substitute what you really are deprived of. People believe by the help of social media or an appearance of how people view their selves contributes to why people think the way they do. Trust me, everything people show on social media isn’t always their whole story. People only show you what they want to show you through social media. For an example, just because someone post pictures of them with their boyfriend smiling and showing lavish gifts doesn’t mean he is not beating her behind closed doors. At the same time, we the people have to blame ourselves because we allow ourselves to perceive what we want to. Advancements in technology and the opportunities that now comes from social media causes problems with everyone’s inner self. Social media can change people and give people the audacity to do things or say things they shouldn’t do. The standard of living has made our society worrying about things they shouldn’t care so much about. Now I’m not saying don’t care about your career, big dreams, thinking state, how you think about yourself or even others but their comes a fine line between what really matter in life. You can’t let anyone- or even society determine what you value.
