We’re so back.

I just miss when my social media was fun — all I want to do here is post my iPhone photography, play with filters, be “aesthetic.” Early 2010s was the best era for that, and I’m filled with nostalgia for a simpler time, a more creative me.

Yeah, yeah, I just want to be creative without pressure to make money or be famous. (Even though, I do still want to make money and be famous on Instagram.)

Aloha and welcome (back) to @SacredHeartsAcademy Mrs. Carol Flores Chong, '91! Carol Flores Chong ‘91 was recently appointed as the new principal of the upper school at #SacredHeartsAcademy for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. The selection of Mrs. Chong is the result of a comprehensive, national search process that included a search committee with parent, faculty, campus ministry, administration, and Board of Directors representatives. Mrs. Chong comes to the Academy from St. John the Baptist School, where she has served as principal for the last four years. Previously, she served as vice principal for Holy Family Catholic Academy. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mrs. Chong was a member of the English faculty at the Academy for nine years, where she also served as the equivalent to today’s division dean for the #ClassOf2010 and the #ClassOf2014. Mrs. Chong holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Chaminade University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. Today's #ThrowbackThursday is a very nostalgic one. This is a picture from a group BBQ organised to celebrate the end of my undergraduate degree in archaeology at @uniofaberdeen . We were a pretty small class by the end, but everyone got on so well and it was a really fun group! Our professors also joined for the BBQ - I think we were lucky in that all of them were so supportive and became an important part of our lives. . Funny story: I didn’t start studying archaeology. I started with a film degree, but within the first year I changed degrees a couple of times and eventually discovered archaeology, and I’ve never looked back! I wonder how different my life would have been... I was drawn to the subject by one class that a friend of mine was taking, which focused on human origins - something that i was (and still am) fascinated by. . How did you end up where you are today? Was it a straight road or full of twists and turns? I can't imagine how heartbreaking it must be for seniors not to be able to walk across the stage and accept their diplomas that they have worked diligently for years to achieve. My heart truly goes out to all the classes of 2020. We realize the sacrifices you are making, we support you 100%, and we wish you the absolute best for the future!
